YES! This is exactly my problem. However, a friend of mine who has bought the game at a later date than me (also on PS3) has much better commentary, with the commentator saying the player's name each time the ball is passed to him - as it should be. Maybe Konami fixed this commentary bug...

Sorry but I'm bumping this in hope of someone having an answer.

Bad commentary is definitely better than silence. What I'd like most is to hear players' names when I pass to them. I have all the updates, installed the game to my HD and have Rosh's Option File (if that makes any difference.) I tried uninstalling the game and deleting all game data too, but...

I'm not sure if anyone can help me out here, but I thought I'd give it try. My copy of PES 2010 runs great, and I don't have any problems with it except for one nagging issue. Despite the Commentary Frequency being set on Standard and on Name, the commentators barely say a word all game...
