If there's not an option to remove the radar entirely, that's a shame and a error by Konami. Some people like the radar, others don't. It's good to have options. It's also good to get WE in the states after Japan and Europe as most of these oversights normally get ironed out by then.

There is slowdown Guys, I've been playing WE8 in a Japanese electronics store and the bottom line is that there is a lot of slowdown throughout the whole game, and the ball can be very floaty at times. The worst of the slowdown is during the cornerkicks and when the penalty box gets crowded...
