I'm not kidding? I can understand your disbelief though, my stats are usually much better than everybody else's online because they aren't clever with the Strengthen option. If you read the official guide by Piggyback, it shows a little table of what each Strengthen option actually...

Nah, they wouldn't make player's on higher difficulty any better than those on a lower difficulty. That'd be unfair on lesser skilled players.
