PS3 all set to 720p with 1080i turned off.

Mt Samsung 40" though hs the option to set to 100mhz, low, medium, high or off.

I know for watching footy on Sky I have it off, is it any difference for Pro Evo anyone?

Used it last night and thought it may be smoother but got the odd blur on the ball.

Hertz should make little difference. The blurring/ghosting you see watching football is your TV trying to fill the gaps from the lower reosolution SD signal it's displaying.

Imagine your TV as a grid. An SD signal will fill 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen at most (depending on size), so your TV breaks the image into littel blocks and spreads them out across the grid to fill it. As it spreads them out it then tries to fill in the gaps using the colours it thinks are correct, hence the blurry images. The effect is worsened by fast moving images as the TV has to react real-time so you'll allways get a perceivable delay.

PS games will be fine as the PS does most of the work saving your TV the headache.
