Precisely. I'm not saying it is probable and were Spain to play Thailand, I would never bet against them, but the fact remains that it is possible. Nobody would ever have thought it possible for the USA to beat England in 1950, for North Korea to beat Italy in 1966, for Hereford to beat Newcastle in 1972, and so on through history.

the real challenge is starting with default players, although after a few seasons that also gets easy.

Infact but the point is that all these teams are worse and play worse soccer and even tho they won few times here or there ( such is the nature of soccer and why its so interesting ) they never really outplayed the much stronger opponent but were rather lucky or the oppisition unlucky , yet in PES such weaker teams seem to sometimes outplay the best teams in the game by quite a margin , and it seems to happen frequently.

The AI is ridiculous. When i choose to play with the maximum difficulty, it doesn't have to mean that all defenders are amazing, but that they should play to the best of their ability, and that's frankly not the case. Every defender makes amazing tackles in Top Player.

Why don't you play against a real-life pro with thailand (with arrows down by the way since you think they're so bad) against spain (with all arrows up) and see how you do and see if the game is realistic then. 90% of teams in the WORLD can't beat them right now, that's why they're EURO CHAMPS.

I hoenstly don't believe that - which I am entitled to do - and you shouldn't waste your breath trying to convince me of anything else.

Holland came into Euro 08 as a heavy, heavy favorite. Especially after the dominant matches agains't the World Cup final teams Italy and France.

However, Russia had been a surprise in the Qualifiers and did well in the group stage, despite being demolished by Spain.

But I don't believe that anyone REALLY figured Russia to beat Holland. Sure, people might've HOPED for it or thought that Russia could surprise yet again but not a secure win.
