I cant quite decide wether playing with 2 centre backs and 2 side backs is more effective or is playing with 3 centre backs the way to go.. any thoughts????

I definetely prefer playing 4 at the back, it's much more solid. However I think it depends on what your opponent is doing too. If the opposition fields 2 strikers, it's probably best to play 4 defenders. However if the opposition is only playing 1 striker and fairly defensive you can afford to play 3 at the back I'd say. Whereas if your opponent has 3 up front you may want to think about dropping to 5 defenders depending on the quality of the 3 strikers you're facing.
