sorry if im beating a dead horse here...

but is it generally thought that 4* seems easier than 3*? i dont know if its the players being smarter or what, but i played newcastle in my ML (and they are revamped...number 2 in the league) in a 3* match, 0-0, in a 4* match i easily won 2-0.

game just seemed to flow better on 4*, strange...anyone else see this kinda stuff or is it just 'cause its late and i need to go to bed :D

Not sure, now that I'm just back playing I drop back to 3* for the moment.

3* seems very troublesome, possession last only for ? secs.

Agree that 4* more flowing, more fluent, although I only won 1 match in 4* these 2 days scored against Lazio from a 81st minute penalty :)

I tend to agree with you that 4* is easier than 3*, however it depends on individual. Based on my observation, I noticed that on 3*, certain teams tend to back pass a lot (which kind of upset my rhythm) before launching the attack.
It is like the German team of the 90's (real life). First they bored you to death then they go for the kill. So unless you are able to adapt and respond quickly, chances is that you will lose by one or two miserable goals. On the 4*, it is all action. Everything moves very quickly and our response and reflex action tend to go with the constant flow of action. We become more alert and it is not surprising that we can outperform the CPU,

Yeh the German clubs really can annoy their opponents.

If many of you think 4* is easier, I'm gonna advance there......maybe tomorrow. :)

yeah i also noticed the cpu plays less 'boot-ball' where they just clear the ball ALL the time and tend to pass out of situations more often.

The reason 4*, or even 5*, would appear to be progressively easier is simple.

The higher the level you play, the more advanced the AI become. By "advanced," I mean the more "real" football they play. Their behaviour is more realistic, and they don't do stupid things. Because everyone understands real football better, it means you anticipate their play (sub-consciously) more effectively, and so find yourself playing better against them.

Basically, imagine being 1-0 down to Bayern Munich at home in a match. In real life, everyone knows Bayern will shut-up-shop and try and hold on. Therefore, the only way you're likely to break them down is...*insert well-known counter-strategy here*

Now, imagine the same situation, but against a 3* Bayern team doing all sorts of crazy things on PES3. How do you play against them? God knows.

Yeah, the first time I tried an ML game at 5*, the opposition kicked-off, passed it to LMF, then to LB, and all along the back-line.

How many times have I seen Champions League games start like that. I just sat and smiled in appreciation.

At 4 or 5* I think the COM team really start to guard possession, they move the ball with much greater purpose, switch play across the field, press your defenders and DMF on the ball, attack at greater pace, and tend to shoot with much more power.

Your points are valid. I have read and seen gamers starting at the 5* level and making good. They can win games. But I really doubt whether that can perform during an online competition. My hypothesis is that a gamer who starts off from 3* and make his way up is better than one who is plays only at the 5*level. In an online match, I can bore him to death. What do you think?

I started on 5 and i play on 5 and its starting to get a bit too easy against the CPU (just won international cup with Australia beating england 4-1, spain 4-2 and in the finals brazil 2-0). I play against mates who play 3* , 4* against CPU and win and i must say that playing against them is a lot more easier than playing against CPU on 5*

Playing mates are fun.....

..they get annoyed easily and always give you penalties.

*I RECEIVED 4 in the 1st half previously :)
