Advice/Details on in-game strategies?

Wondering if anyone would be willing to give an American football neophyte an explanation of the different strategies you can use in the game, as well as what situations to properly use them in?

The main ones I have no clue about are Change Sides and Opp. Side Attack, since they dont seem to have much effect on the formation when I implement them (that I notice anyway). Is CB overlap worth exploiting as well?

Also what effect does Normal have during the game? And do the pitch specific strats (Right Side, Left Side, Center) also apply to defense or just on attack? What if you combine two of them at the same time, do they cancel each other out? Is the No Strategy option useful at any point in a game?

As far as the team settings go, does the specific strategy have to be on during the game for the ABC setting to have an effect? In other words if I don't have zone press or offside trap clicked on, will setting it to A or C make any difference to how the players perform?

Lastly, whats the difference between Zone Mark and Covering on defense? I guess thats it for now. Ive been a WE/PES convert since WE6 (or PES2 for you guys) but I never understood some of the finer points of the game. Appreciate any help with this, thanks.

hey u.......

opposite side attack and change side are not very useful strategies, opp side attack means that if youre advancing on the right side of the pitch....all ur players will move slightly to the left encouraging you in makin a long pass to the opposite side of the field. change side means that all of ur attacking midfielders and strikers switch position when youre attacking (left striker moves right and viceversa)...............CB overlap is somethin you could do but ONLY if you have a good full back with good attacking attributes, as CB overlap means that every so often ur full back will join in the attack, HEITINGA is a good player to use this strategy with.

Zone marking means that ur defens line will mark a specific zone of the field while man mark means obviously that each player marks its own man and moves around the defense followin his player.

hte strategies i always use are counter attack, zone press, and offside trap, and i use them in semi automatic mode, i let the computer decide when its best to use them, as i cant be bothered choosing the tactics, then remember to turn them off and on again..............

hope this helps ya out, glad u chose this amazing soccer game, if ya have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Hey, thanks for the response. Any idea what change sides would be useful for? I assume it may help confuse the defense if they're aggressive with individual markings, anything else?

Im still confused about the ABC levels in team settings. Instructions arent very clear here. Do you know if the level you set still applies if you don't have those strategies in manual or semi-manual turned on?

Yeah I understand that part, but what about Covering? It sounds like its the same thing as Zone Marking, but obviously theres a difference or it wouldnt be another option.

as u said changing side would be good to confuse the defense, it would be more useful if playin vs com or human that uses man markin..........

the abc part still takes effect even if u dont have th strategy selected.....
i dont know right now bout the covering thing.....ill chekc it out and tell u later on

Covering- when your defenders get out of place then the one u have him on covering will fill in his place of zone

Covering can be quite useful. I usually set my RB and LB to covering so that if the central defenders get pulled out of position, then they can cover them.
