Best formation for killer headers?

I have a real problem with heading. I play 4-3-3 with winger and 1 striker. Van Nistelrooy is my striker. He aint a small guy and can give a good header. But he never GETS to the ball. Walking other directions always. Or being blocked. Is it the formation or the player OR WHAT? Who can give me some tips? Thnx...

Ps: I already know that an assist is given by tapping the circle twice so that's not it ;)

Try a 4-1-3-2 with the SMFs bombing forward to put in crosses. If you vary the cross type, the either of the CFs can have heading opportunities. And you can also use X to head the crosses towards the other striker or the OMF to blast in. You can also try this with 3-2-3-2 if you prefer to play that way.

if a pass is made to Van Nistelroy, run towards the ball holding R1 and R2. He will still get the ball even if he was on the bench.

Why the need to header? Whack circle 3 times to get it to his fet. If he can't head for you then use his feet.

The problem is not that he CANNOT head (because he CAN) but he is WALKING wrong or is being BLOCKED by his opponent. And how can I practise the R1 and R2 button at the same time well? Annybody has some tips for me? I am not so good in using R1 and R2 at the same time.

As you are running holding R1 of course, your player might not be in an ideal collision course with the ball as you mentioned. In that case hold R2 as well and you will have your player changing his angle and pushing anyone in his way. This is an important move in offense. There is also a defensive move with the same buttons R1 and R2, pretend to collide with the ball's course and as your opponent's player approaches you and anticipate your next step, hold R1 and R2 and hold your player still and let the ball pass you followed by immediately releasing R2. You will find yourself in position of the ball with the opponent's player running behind you!

I always use a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 formation. Play with wingers, then sprint down the wings double tap :circle: and use :R2: 2 control the player, position him for the header, then run away celebrating an awsome goal.:)

After playing last night (as Manchester United) I find it hard to figure out how this guy can't get headers in. I scored a header from a corner, 2 headers from crosses and forced some good saves from the keeper with the rest (on 6*).

I guess it's practice.

Your are from Amsterdam. And your striker is van Nistelrooy???? lol

Nee ik mag em ook nie maar bij NL elftal issie de beste speler. Kluivert is beter in koppen, maar hij heeft weinig sterren (zelf Scoring ster heeft ie niet)

As some other guy said play with 3-5-2, failing that three up front and use one or bothe WFs as wingers.

If you're playing 3-5-2 then make sure one of he wingers is high-ish up the pitch and it helps having his attacking arrow pointing forward. Slot it out to this guy as often as you can and always have him racing along the line ready to cut in and cross or get to the byline.

It seems that you're not knocking them in with van the not-quite-a-man as you need to get control of him and 'force' him into position in front of the defender. I've found that Nistlerooy's not one of the best of the good headerers at doing this as his movement, although good on the ground, is more sluggish and lethargic than others-he's also not as powerful as some. If the guy's not broad he has less chance - I'd try Adriano, Vieri and Shevchenko, keep knocking long, quick, low-ish balls to them and practise getting in front of and overpowering centre backs.
