Best game i've had was the semi-final of the Master League Championships. I've done so many seasons on it with Everton but this one game stands out from all the rest.
I was 1-0 up against Deportivo in the first half, which wasn't one of the most exciting first halves i've ever had, few shots from either team but the goal which came round about the 35 minute mark gave the game a bit of life.
The second half was just the complete opposite of the first, Deportivo came out and played some sh*t hot togga and they found an equaliser very quickly (the control pad hits the ground in anger). The game became very frustrating with all my passes being intercepted and the wingers not getting anywhere down the flanks. Deportivo would eventually go on to score another goal after about 77 minutes, and thats was it i thought game over.
I made a couple of quick substitutions bringing on some fresh legs one of which was Henry, dont ask me why i didn't play him from the start. Anyway after making the subs i changed to a more attacking formation to help boost my chances of getting an all important equaliser. It didn't seem like happening though. I was starting to show the true spirit of the team that had won the league that season and the atacks where relentless. But no matter how hard i tried the keeper tried that extra bit more.
I was getting pis*ed off, the control pad was flying round the room (almost breaking at one point which i'm glad it didn't now).
I had won a free kick which was too far out to shoot from so i opted for a short pass to Henry who was fouled from behind and i was awarded another free kick a little closer. This was it, last chance, deep into injury time and the full time whistle beckoning. I didn't want to risk a shot because i had taken Beckham off for Henry, so i rolled in a pass to Henry on the edge of the box, (at this point i was sh*ttin myself in case i got tackled) turned only to find every single player on the pitch inside Deportivo's box, a little bit of quick thinking was in store so i made a couple of twists and turns to just make enough space for a shot, it was a low one, bottom corner job, swerving away from the keeper and giving him no chance to save it, a little moment of silence with a smug look on my face and then i thought...f*ck it, i started jumping up and down cheering like a tw*t so i stopped and sat down to prepare for the first half of extra time (after watching the replay for about half an hour).
After all that hard grafting to get back in the game, the first half of extra time was a piece of p*ss. No real fight from Deportivo to win the game and suddenly i found myself one on one with Henry against the Depo keeper, with Henry's pace i was able to take it passed him with ease and slot home the winning goal to send the Blue Boys to the final of the Master League Championships, where i lost out to Juventus 4-3.
