Does any one have a good method of training young players once you picked them up???

give them a lot of passes in the game , let them take all the corners , penalties , long free kicks, never let them out of the starting 11 and never substitute them (these will give you more ability points if this is what you ask)

Cheers for that!

Now how do i go about getting a young player?

Who's Your Daddy?

You go to negotiations then on the next menu go to either club or national selection when the teams come up press r1 until the edited players are up the is another option for GROWTH this is where you get the youth players

how many points do u get um if they play and take all the pens and stuff. My m8 bought 1 and he neva played him and in each match he got 10 point for the young player. I hear that they only have 10 matches to get guuud!!

The amount of matches doesnt matter its the length of time that does, so if you have a good cup run then your going to get a lot better player. The length of time they have is preset according to the manual, so the better young players are the ones that have longest to develop.

You get more points if your player scores goals, gets assists, gets more of the ball and get a better match rating on the player rating screen.

If you wanna train a defender up well get another young player and play them as well as defenders dont seem to get as many points.

for example, when i won a game having played my promising centre back Lavisse i would get on average 28 points, but when i trained my striker kivi up i was getting 50-55 points going up to 60-70 if he scored goals.

I've got none on my team but after listening to the messages on this thread will definatly consider buying one! It will be good if theres a few out there who can contend with the best!

My striker kivi is one hell of a player. hes keeping owen, van basten, fernando torres and adriano out of the team at the moment. Has lots of good stats and is a goal machine.

Make sure you see the players general stats as these cant be changed - weak foot accuracy is pretty important as is height.
You dont really want to be training up a "target man" striker who is only 170cm tall.

To train up a really great player you need to play a lot of games and being in europe helps a lot as does any cup really. Dont always go for the player with the best stats as they wont always turn out to be the best player in the long run.

at the moment ive just bought a new youth player - van gogh, but havent played any matches with him yet.

i'll post up kivi's stats in my next post

i trained a young player for a D2 Season,
got around avg 40 points per game he played,
maybe about 15 games
most of the time he rarely touched the ball,
no to mention all the free kick, assist, goal stuff
becaused i still care about my match results

he turned out to be just around average some yellow states, but still a lot of white, and with only one special abilities..

if u wanna train a superstar player, be ready to sacrefice one season for it, i don't know if
D1 or D2 makes a difference in terms of getting points?

looks like training ends in one year,
if that's the case, probably better to train him
at D1 since there is a lot more matches.

gladiator11 is right that its better to train up in d1 cos there are more matches but most players wont last for the whole season. the longest ive ever had a trainee player for is from the 1st negotation period to the end of the season so that wouldnt really make a difference betwwen d1 and d2, but european matches play a very big part as do cup matches, thats what separates half decent players like gladiator11's from world class ones.

I brought three young players when in Div 2, they started off rubbish but became brilliant.
The best was someone called Ibsen, i recommend him because i brought him in Div 2 and he stayed on going up until two matches into Div1!
I am playing on 4* and in one match i won 7-0 with Ibsen scoring 6 of the goals!!!!!!

Wow thats really good, has anyone else had good experiences with young players?

It does matter if your in D1 cos there are about an extra 8 or so games at the end of the season, so sorry for getting it wrong.Im not sure if it effects points though?

How many points did ibsen get for scoring 6 goals, or was it after he had finished training?

I have 4 at the moment. ibsen (his stats are the same as van basten) , van gogh (like rivaldo) , titanes (like beckham) and stanley (like f. cannavaro). they are just great. and I have just bought kivi (I will make him like batistuta or ronaldo)

what r their salaries like then these young lads that you have?

i also bought lavisse but never played him in defence, always midfield-
just made him a cmf/omf

he got a tonne of points and ended up with a bunch of important 99 stats (i didnt make him realistic- just 99'd the important stats)

his freekick stats were all 99 lol

training young player

i noticed the rewardng points after each match the young player played depends on his personl scores in that match.
so even he just showed up for couple of minutes, but the team wins, he can still earn a lot of points around 50-60 in D2,
but if the team loses, no matter how many minutes he played,
he won't score more than 4.0 points, which gives him just less that 30 points.
looks like all the training stop after 12-13 games, i bought a forward before pre-season, and played almost every match but one in D2, but the training stopped around league fixture11.
still just half-done,

i don't see how he can played a lot more matches in D1 though..
does the training period depends on how many minutes he played or number of matches?

i am confused,
anybody has an idea?

Get Piliniak, they let you train him for a long, long time to the point where if you just give him a few minutes in each game as soon as you sign him you'll get almost every stat he has over 90. Also, Petipa (not sure of spelling) is a good player to train. I agree with Ibsen, they allow you to train him for a long time too.
