OK, this should work, have you run the network setup tool on PES5
Until you activate the network on PS2 you are not going to see it on your LAN (I mean that the PS2 sends no signal until you tell it to)
This should
- Setup network as you have stated above
- Bootup your PES2 load PES5
- Choose "Network" form the title screen
- Press X and then Yes (if you agree to the DNAS statement)
- Press X again when the connect to network dialog box appears
- press [] and go in to the network configuration utility
The utility will load and has blue backdrop
- Select "add setting"
- Choose memory card where you will store settings
- Follow on screen instructions (use auto where possible)
- Save settings and then quiit network utility (PES5 will reload)
Getting online
- Choose "Network" form the title screen
- Press X and then Yes (if you agree to the DNAS statement)
- Press X again when the connect to network dialog box appears
- Choose memory card where network settings are stored
- Choose network configuration (you named it)
* At this point the network card is activated and will be visable to your computer
** It may take a few seconds for you PC to setup the network so your PS2 may timeout from trying to connect to the network so reconnect if this happens.
*** I may be foregetting DHCP here, it is possible that you may have to give your PS2 and PC static IPs for this to work. It may be easier for you to plug your PS2 directly into you cable modem using a normal lan cable. All you need to do here is:-
- switch of your modem for two mins and remove USB cable from PC
- Boot-up modem without any network or USB cables
- When modem is ready (Cable LED is solid) insert LAN cable from PS2
- Follow the network configuration utility instructions
- Play the game
You will have to reset your modem again when you want to use you PC
(basically booting your modem with nothing attached allows you to add a new network item, be it PC, PS2 or router)
Hope this helps and I have not confused you!
