CD-R question

Since I got my new cd-burner I seem to be having trouble burning images. With my old one I could burn using CDrWin and my PS2 would have no trouble reading the disc. I know that it's not a PS2 laser issue as it reads my previously burnt cd-r as it always has.

It seems as if the PS2 has trouble booting, reading the initial part of the disc. If I get it working (it always workd after a couple of tries) then the disc reads better than any of my other games (original or copies!) as I use Memorex Black. I now use Nero to burn. I choose firstly Burn an image > Image already stored on computer an then find the .cue and burn at x4. Any help would be greatly appreciated

trying burning at x1 speed and dont use Nero to burn ps2 images, there are better burning software out there which is more suited to ps2

Everyone prefers different burning software but this is the first time I read that others apart from Nero are 'more suited to PS2' - how so??

I've nearly always used Nero and have had no probs.

I always defragment before burning. Maybe that will help.

How do you defragment Zyg? I'd like to try this and see what happens. Thanks to everyone for answering ;)

I tried Alcohol last night but the same thing happened when I went to play my PES3. The PS2 doesn't seem to start reading the disc directly, it clicks a few times first. I noticed also that even when I chose Playstation 2 and x4 speed, it only took about 3mins(!) to burn. With Nero/CDrWin it usually takes about 20mins at x4.

I'd like to try this defragmentation that you mentioned Zyg. How would I go about doing that?
