Changing the flag SHAPE, to make a badge

In the FLAG/BADGE editing for the FULL retail PES3 game:

How do i change the background to be tansparent? For instance i have put various shapes in the different layers (1 to 8) and now i don't want the retangular shape of the "flag" but i want the badge shape so i need to get the background transparent. How do i do this?

For the colours, 0,0,0 is black, and at the other end of the scale 255,255,255 is white. What about a see-through colour? How do i change the opacity? Or am i stuck with the rectangular shape? :(

How can I make the real Real Madrid logo in PES3???
Can you tell me it or give me a guide, because I think its very difficult to make the real logos :(

You can't get anything exactly like the Real Madrid logo using the in-game editor, but you can get something that resembles it.

The whole idea is that you move from the background into the foreground, or you build the badge up from the TV, towards YOU.

(using the SQUARE botton on the "move" option to do things like adjust size, rotate, flip your shapes).

what i would do is:
1. Start from layer 8 and chuck in a full yellow cricle.
2. In layer 7 chuck in a smaller white circle and move it into the yellow circle to give the effect of having a yellow ring outline.
3. Layer 6, get a square shape, make it blue, elong it with the size adjust to a rectangle, then rotate anticlockwise into the white cricle.
4. Layer 5: try and find a pattern that looks like writing in the badge, make it smaller to fit inside the white circle you made on layer 7, then colour this "writing" yellow.
5. To put the crown on the top, in layer 4 try and find a crown shape, maybe colour it red, minmise it and move it to the top of the circle.
6. finish it off by setting the background to white.

Voila, you're done. A cheap knock-off Real Madrid badge, that'll look authentic from far away at least. :D

You can actually make the badges look quite real because you are not limited to just 8 icons/fonts. You can actually create a flag with 8 icons then save it a s a background, open it up and add 8 more icons on top of it.

You can do this again and again. I created a Liverpool flag that has a total of 28 icons composing it.

True, that you can indeed do, but when you have it combines the layers as one, and i've noticed it lowers the overall resolution.

Really? The resolution appears fine when I view the flags up close in replays. I still think it is a good idea to create the very basic three or four elements of the flag at the very least then save as a background thus enabling more icons to be placed over the top.

Yeah I find it quite challenging creating the flags given all the elements you can use.

So far I have created Man U, Arsenal, Fulham, Liverpool, Galatasaray, Celtic, Rangers, Barca, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Chelsea, Valencia, Marseille and Leeds. All with about 16 icons/font sets each, they look bloody great.

Although it takes about a half an hour to do each flag you really get a fresh appreciation for actually playing the game! Not that I need one just yet.

A good thing to do is set the background colour to the same colour as the strip. Meaning that the flag on the strip appears as though it has no background and looks like a badge on the kit. Looks bloody authentic on replays and intro scenes.

That works fine until you come to the away kit as you will have the background colour of the home kit for the badge

Yeah, true that.

How do your flags look when minimized in the game top right hand corner? I found they lack clarity and even those i thought were "symetrical" don't seem as such when made small in the game.
