Chips and Free Kicks

Okay a few questions

Chips, on PES2008. Was wondering when and where to use the L1 and R1 chip shots? Also the adequate power to use for both, at the moment im generally rubbish with chips and only attempt when winning comfortably. With L1 and just on the edge of the box i always use too much power or not enough.

Free Kicks, when playing online i see many ppl using many different types of free kicks. How is it you get a standing player to hit the ball on PS3?? and how is it you just lay ball on for someone to hit?? I notice a lot or ppl using this one with adriano and the like when slightly out wide and near the box.

Also when defending free kicks how is u add and take away players from the wall???

Thanks for those who can answer these for me :)

Lovin' it!!!

I don't generally use chip shots cos i find them to be difficult to pull off under pressure. One of the only ones i use is the parallel with the goal, on the edge of the box using the special chip shot to the top corner but i only use that rarely. I'm sure others would say they're easy.

However, one-on-one is a completely different story. I hate people who use predictable scoring techniques, especially the rounding the keeper which always results in a goal or penalty. I much prefer to shoot around the keeper or chip the keeper as it's more realistic and different and gives more pleasure.

I scored a corker yesterday online with Rooney. It was a 30+ pass move beginning with Van Der Sar to Evra and ending with Tevez playing a through ball splitting the opposition defence, with Rooney timing his run to perfectly spring the offside trap. Then from about 25 yards on his first touch, Rooney chips the oncoming keeper which goes in right in the top corner.

I much prefer to score goals like this than do the predictable rounding the keeper etc. I also prefer people who play with 'normal' teams rather than the Barca's, Inter's and Brazil's of the game. I find you get better games, more competitive, more realistic and generally more enjoyable.

I play on PS2 with the tag Mr_Ed if you fancy a game, and i'll be on the PC with the same tag soon too.
