If there was a classic British team on PES3 who would be your starting 11?

Mine would be

KEEPER
Neville Southall

DEFENDERS
Bobby Moore
Kevin Ratcliffe
Alan Hansen
Joey Jones

MIDFIELDERS
George Best
Mark Hughes
Bobby Charlton
Kenny Dalglish

STRIKERS
Ian Rush
Gary Lineker

UNBEATABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgot to tell you also that was a gr8 idea, to have a Classic Britain, as Classic England aren't strong enough, so add Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Ian RUSH? He wouldn't be good enough to play for Accrington Stanley classics....
And Dalglish was a forward wasn't he?
Certainly Mark Hughes wasn't one of the 2 best midfielders in British football.
It's understandable that you've picked a number of welsh players though, as everyone will always find room for their favourite players.
but in my opinion, if you took the 'classic england' squad from PES3, the only players in your 11 who would get in would be:
Neville Southall (my fave keeper) instead of Shilton, (but he wasn't as good as Banks)
George Best and maybe Dalglish (though Dennis Law would probably be better).

Jimmy Johston at MR.

He was in the FIFA world team (paper) of the late sixties with Eusubio. The only British guy in the team. Pele even said he was the only European worthy to play in the Brazil team of the day.

High praise.

I see you are a Newcastle fan. Rush didn't get goals for you, but when he came to Wrexham he was god awful, didn't score 1 for us, however in his day, he was one of if not the best striker in the country. Maybe I am biased but thats allowed isn't it?

Ian Rush was a good goalscorer, i just don't think he is anywhere near being in the all-time British 11. (and of course, the accrington stanley referance was for those old enough to remember the "MILK! eeeuurrrgghh" adverts).

But then, Chris Waddle would be the first name on my team sheet.

Pele has aslways been a bit of an opinionated character though hasn't he? Mind you when you are considered to be one of if not the greatest player of all time I suppose he should know...

Goalkeeper

Jennings > Banks & Shilton > Every Other British Goalkeeper > Crustations of the Earth's Inner Mantle > Neville Southall

George Best is a given, as he was easily Britain's most gifted ever footballer.

The others are arguable.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned John Cahrles (set leads goal-scoring record for Leeds (42 goals) while playing in defence for Wales, voted best foreign player to play in Italy (ahead of Maradona, PLatini etc...)). Absolute legend.
