Controlling the wall

My mate says there is a way to control the wall when defending a free-kick. i.e. presing O or [] does something different when the shot is taken.

Is this true? if so what are the controls?

p.s. if this is in the instruction manual i apologise - i'm too lazy

X - wall stands still.
O - A couple of players rush out of the wall.
[] - Wall jumps.

Contrary to what some people think, you only have to hold the appropriate button and not bash it like crazy.

Cheers - do you think there is one that works better than the other?

s'pose it depends on the flight of the ball and the quality of the free-kick taker

I use O, because they jump and if the opposition passes the ball on a free kick, one player in the wall will dive to cut the ball.
But if the free kicker is good, he will pass the ball over the players, but it's very hard to score from a fre kick....i think :D

MAN, USE O BUTTON, YOU WILL DO OK!!! :D

i use jump and hold triangle for my goalie to go towards the ball. not many people score FK's against me so it must work

held O last nite and slid in to intercept a short pass - ran about 60 yards with owen and cheekily slipped it passed the keeper

You like using O, didn't you? I use it.....
But if the free kick, is still far away, and you think that he isn't going to shot, use the triangle, like MatPhillips explained. O + /\ .

MarkyP, if you don't press nothing they will all jump in the wall...

I always press O as more often than not, someone in the wall will block the attempt at goal.
Although I can score 5 times out of ten from a free kick, I have only had one free kick scored against me by the CPU in months of playing it. The computer very rarely scores from free kicks no matter how you defend it.

I pressed :s-triang: once and my keeper came out a bit much and they scored where they wouldn't have if he'd stayed on his line. Kinda like Beckham's free kick for Madrid a few weeks ago

The controls for almost all things in PES3 are the same as in WE7.
Except for the right analogue stick down-then-up move.
