Is there a way to save a clubs formation that is not in the formation list so i can load it for a game?

For example i like panathiakos's formation, can i save it and load it if a play with a different club?

IF SO HOW?

Go to play a friendly match as Panatinaikos.
Copy their formation using the Copy Formation at the bottom of the formations options and paste it into one of the 10 boxes at the bottom of the screen.

Then quit the match and start a new friendly as your preferred team. In the formation screen, Go back to the bottom and copy the Panathinaikos formation (their flag should be in the box) and paste it into the box at the top, for the team you are using. Your team will now be playing in their formation but some of the players will be in the wrong positions. Fix the lineup so everyone is in a correct position and then you can save this new formation at the bottom into another box. Go to Formation Data Manager and save the formations onto your memory card. Next time you play the game after turning it off, go to Formation Data Manager and load the formations you saved and then you can play again. And you can repeat this process for other teams.

Or if you love the formation very much, you can go to Edit mode and choose the Edit Strategy option in a team list to change their formation (as shown above) to be the new one and then they will always play the way you set it.

Hope this makes sense and that it's easy enough to comprehend. Thank you please.

konartis,

As zygalski says above...

Once you have that foramtion stocked (whichever team you want to use as a template), and stored on your memory card, you can apply it to any other team you play as.

Obviously some formations will suit the range of players in some squads better than others...

This is what I wrote in another thread about managing formations:

"It may be worth working on a formation, stocking it, and then fitting other teams into that. Then use Formation -> Automatic Sort -> Change team to suit formation (y/n?) -> Change starting line-up as well (y/n). Double check the selections that the COM makes for players in poor form (blue arrows) who you might want to replace, and scan the subs for anyone who's on top form (red arrows).

At least then you can apply a consitant team shape/strategy to most clubs, and get on with with playing. Better still have a a range that you are comfortable with (a 3-5-2 ,and a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3). Then you can change the shape of a side depending on where the strength's of your squad are, and who's in form. (e.g if yu haven't got 3 decent CBT's playing well, or maybe the SMF players are weak, look to see if you have 2 good SB's)."

Thanx alot to the people who didnt have anything stupid to say. Do alot of people who play we7 or pes3 use the "Change team to suit formation" option?

Yes, occasionally. Mostly to see what a team would look like playing in an alternative formation - like one I've taken from stocked team line-up from my memory card.

Applying the stocked formation will likely move some of the wrong subs into the first team, Auto-sort will at least unscramble any mess in terms of the position players are in, and then there abilites. It won't sort for their current form.

Somtimes it's worth having a look at, then revert back to the default formation for the team if it goes against the strengths of the squad. Maybe move on and apply another stocked formation.

The other way of usng it that I've found is to get the decent players in good form into the starting 11, then Auto-sort for the formation, but don't allow the COM to substitute in players from the rest of the squad. If anyone remains out of postion then, either adjust them, or accept a weaker substitute.

It would be nice if you could apply the pattern/postions and attack/defence tactics and formation from memory, without changing the starting line-up. One for PES4, I hope.
