Crashes on startup (PC)

Hi

I got the game yesterday, it worked once or twice but now during startup I get the intro video, press any button screen, then it loads edit data and after that crashes to the desktop.

I've tried reinstalling the game, port forwarding, changing the UDP in settings, "netsh winsock reset" on run command, disconnecting from the internet at the press any button screen and even a full system restore as I was getting paranoid thinking there was a corrupt file somewhere related to PES.

None of these work, it just keeps crashing. Any help?

I'm not sure if this still works, but it used to with PES2013. Go to the download folder in the main PES directory and delete everything inside it. Then delete the KONAMI folder in Documents, and try to run the game again.

Try to install a patch like this one http://ptepatch.blogspot.pt/2016/02/pes16-pte-patch-40-released-03022016.html they usually solve this kind of issues. Preferably in a freshly installed game.

Oh mate, you legend! It worked! out of all the places I've looked online, from the steam forums to other pes forums nobody suggested doing that.

Great to hear that. This happens when the game updates but for some reason corrupts files while doing so. PES2013 was even worse in this regard.
