Curled shot and dribbling questions

Hey guys,

New here, but have been playing pes since 2008 (the worst version apparently, seems to be the general consensus). And ever since then I've been trying to learn how to properly curl shots with no success. Sorry, the post is gonna be a bit longish :)

Let me first say I actually use a keyboard (I know, horrible.. but does me pretty well) so for example my shot is bound to the "D" key and the controlled shot button (r2 is it?) to E.

Now here's the deal.. if I press E after D the guy will shoot the ball slightly differently and sometimes even really hard shots are nicely guided to the angles just above the keepers hands.. also sometimes this kinda shot will randomly chip the keeper (I think that happens if the player has 1-1 finish..not sure).

Now that's all great but how do you actually CHANGE THE DIRECTION of the shot? I've tried holding whatever key I set r2 to (control key is easier than E to hold) while shooting and then I've also tried during the balls' flight pressing the arrow keys but nothing seems to actually work.

For example, when I shoot a freekick, holding the left or right arrow key properly gives the ball spin, but no such luck in open game shots..

To make it simple.. for example.. if I wanted to shoot wide of the near post while running down the middle of the pitch from the left side of the screen to the right and then have the shot just curl in what excatly would I need to press? (for reference again, D being shot, E being controlled shot and arrow keys being.. well the d-pad I guess? :p)

Also.. regarding dribbles .. seems to me just about every dribble is useless vs the computer on top player.. so far I've managed to have some measure of success only with the quick direction change one.. does anyone have any tips on dribbles that work well when running a counter attack and trying to beat a single defender or two with a slow player? Eg a dribble that doesn't rely on plain outrunning the daft AI, but instead works off standard dribbling without the need to slow down, do drag-backs and inevitably have the ball stolen by the defender creeping up from behind?

Phew.. huge post.. sorry about that.. hopefully the questions make sense and someone can help me out :)

I've found it incredibly easy to score this way with such shot..

for instance you are running from left to right, in the middle of the pitch perhaps a little up of it, and you've got a right footed player.

Now press D (shot, give it relatively small power), then aim COMPLETELY DOWNWARDS (not forward, not down-towards the goal corner but straight downwards), and press E (controlled shot). Your guy should shoot an accurate shot with in-part of the foot to the back down corner.

Just remember easy fact when aiming. In pes your player will ALWAYS try to hit the target. you never have to AIM to the goal. This is a common mistake made.. for instance if you are running to up-left towards the opponent goal. You DON'T have to AIM TO UP-LEFT. Aiming to up left leaves you aiming to the back corner of the goal (which can be very tricky angle to hit). So it might be much wiser at this situation when you're running to up-left towards the goal, to press D (shoot) and then AIM to LEFT. this ends you aimin to middle of the goal which causes high chance for rebounds. Also I'd recommend at this situation to press D (shoot and then AIM to straight UP and then E (Controlled shot).

Try some of those extreme angles when aiming and you see the difference :) So first press shoot, and then just press arrows into any other direction. Try different ones than the one where you are dribbling. Hopefully helps!

I'd also like some help on the useful driblles on the situation you described. I've found some use on corner + diagonal corner (Upper body fake), feint shot (shot + press pass), and the coolest when succeedes forward toward the direction of dribbling and 90 to either of the side.
