What do you use and do you think that 360 movement should be put in the game? are you happy with the way it is now? and if konami use 360(analogue only) what do you think the D-pad should be used for?

I'm not against analog, but I prefer the pad. For me it's simple to say that you can control the game with either, but in terms of PES and what it now is, I find I am able to play much much better with the D Pad. If it went to 360 control, then I would think the whole game would change, and with it the switch to analog would be easier for those of us who prefer the D Pad.

Also - I am glad that this year we should have a proper next gen pes with D Pad control... I think it would have been a shame to go to full analog this year without having one more final PES with the D pad. That being said, Konami may never go to analog, and in a way this makes sense because those who want analog can play Fifa - otherwise the games may eventually become more and more similar until it becomes very difficult to say what makes one unique from the other.

D pad for tactics if 360 movement is included. But I can't stand the analogue. You just can't have full control with it no matter what you all say (for me at least) especially when shooting. Dribbling may get better but still it's hard because the analogue surley isn't sensitive enough in all games so far.
So unless they make the analogue ultra sensitive, I won't use it at all.

i know what you mean, but i think that used in the right way analogue is the way forward. it can free up other buttons for lots of other things like the slow dribble could be done without holding another button by just slightly moving it and surely shooting would be more accurate, you could aim for the part of the goal you want without com assistance. the d-pad could then be used for the new sliders by pushing up or down to select the slider and left or right for adjustment. that way you dont have to pause the game if you want to adjust the sliders.

D Pad all the way :loopy:!!! Apart from the sore thumbs, I just can't see myself adjusting to the analogue stick . I have full control with the d pad, but I seem to make a lot more mistakes with the analogue stick. Control is completely out of my hands, its as simple as that. With the analogue stick, my thumb always rolls into a direction that I don't want to run to. In conclusion, analogue stick is fine for other games, but imo it seems akward for a futbol game.

Analogue for me..they integrated it on consoles for a more responsive game play, utilize 360 movement for a better control on the games

I agree, but still I want a much more sensitive analogue stick.

if konami make pro evo an analogue only game i will personly fly to tokyo go to the konami headquarters and curl one out on there welcome doormat.

With the PES series always having 8 way movement the analogue takes too much effort to move the players compared to the D-Pad which slows responsiveness. However if 16+ way movement is ever implemented then the Analogue stick would be the one i'd use.

360 degree movement and passing worked like a dream in the ISS and perfect striker series on the n64 and ps1-2 between 1995-2001.

The konami footballing empire has been crumbling every year since this series demise and the invention of PES with its 80s backwards 8-axis movement and scripted cheap gameplay.

Although analog control was superior in the ISS series on the n64 and ps2 the d-pad still could be used so this is not a excuse.

More tricks,360 degree movement, placement of passes and manual through passing and shooting with organic ai and reactive crowds to the play, need i say more!!!!!!

You could even juggle and rainbow flick as this video demonstrates.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfpOdaX8h6w

oh i almost forgot ISS also had-

No invisible walls on throw ins, manual pushing, elbowing, diving, looping headers, top stats, card system, players that put there hand up for a pass and point to space, accurate goal kicks that you could place to any outfield player, underarm and overarm manual throwing of the ball by the goalkeeper, tackling of the goal keeper on goal kicks(although you would be sent off),fluid seamless passing, simulated gameplay, aftertouch much like pes, rainbow flicks, juggling, raising the ball,feints,shimmys,180 turns, dedicated trap button, better more accurate set piece and free kick system.

So what happened then konami and why as much as i like PES is it still vastly inferior to a 8 year old game?

Was d-pad for pes 1&2, then went to analogue in pes 3, never went back, and probably cant go back due to the rubbish d-pad on the 360 controller
