I just can't seem to defend when I play online as Man Utd.

For some reason there always seems to be loads of space between my defence and midfield whereas my opponent rarely seems to have this. Consequently he can simply play a through ball between my centre backs who are always on their heels so he gets a clear run on goal every time an attack of mine breaks down.

So two things:

Why is their this gap that no other player seems to have; and

Why are my defenders constantly on their heels? They never seem to track the man running through.

Do I need to change formation or is it an option on the menu I should be changing? Or do I just need to give up! ;)

i think ive read something bout this,saying that theres a bug regarding man utd especially when playing online, i cant play online coz my ps2 is ntsc/j

Cheers. I've changed to Inter now, and things have improved. I still think I'm missing a trick though.

Anyway, another problem I have. If I'm attacking and running towards the opposition's goal and another player runs alongside they'll overtake me and dispossess my attacker. At the other end of the pitch I tend to get brushed off the ball.

How come? Is there a button I should be pressing? Why can't I overtake the other player? Oh woe is me!

Anyway, off to practice now!
