Defending??

I need some help at defending. I play 5 across the back but they dont act like a solid barrier to stop attacks and through balls are passing throught to easily. Can someone help me on how to position my back 5. Also i play the formation 5-3-2.

I'd suggest you try playing with 4 at the back with 2 DMFs in front of them.
Set the defence to Line Defence and give them all high defence arrows in the Individual settings.

Two strong centre backs and 2 SB's is what i use. Maybe a defensive midfielder infront of them would help aswell.

A 5 back is good if the other team doesn't use much midfiled players to attack, but against a team with 2 CF in front and 2 AMF your gonna be shreded by those guys coming at the top of your area unmarked.
Try Zygalski's tip, as it allows for that extra midfield cover you need to stop those through passes.

You could try 2 CB and 2 SB and use 2 DMF and make sure the 2 DMF are true holders. That should close up the middle a bit.

Buy a sweeper, Koltari plays there! never played a sweeper system myself as 5 at the back seems negative to me.
