different expectations

For the first time since i became a PES player in 2004 I have different expectations for the upcoming footie games.

I haven't spend anytime on PES since the little time spent on PES 2008 for the old PS 2. Since then, the games feel totally unplayble to me on the xbox 360. I played them all only a few games.

So, this year I haven't been much interested on PES 11 development cause i feel totally let down by konami and don't believe they will make a come a back this year.

On the other hand, I have high expectations on FIFA 11. i am expecting it to be the best game of the so called "next gen' which is more for current gen.

and who knows? maybe fifa 11 will close to the best game ever which in my opinion was winning eleven 9 / pes 5.

my point is that i don't care who makes the game or how it is branded. bring the best game and i will play it.

Oddly enough, I'm the other way around. I move over from PES to Fifa in recent years, but this year I'm not too convinced with their personality hype crap. While from what I've seen on PES 11 looks waaaaay more promising than previous years!

Typical EA....they make their attributes work, give it a new name in Player Personality and sell it as a major gameplay addition! hahahaha

The only thing that this whole personality crap is, is basically coming down to attributes meaning something.

^True, lol. But all in all maybe both will be good. I sure hope so.
But both are looking good SO FAR. My dream is that we get 2 great football games someday.:)

IMO Fifa was better the last two years...but on both occasions I craved PES after a while.

One thing that is a real gem is that you can create your own national and international tournaments in PES, while in FIFA you are stuck on national tournies and international friendlies...and no I don't care if the national tournies are licensed.

There is nothing better for me to put a World Cup together and going for glory in PES! This year I'm sold, even if PES is shit...I long for the options and playability to be honest! I was very impressed with the Master League additions last year, but had to sell my PES10 copy after two weeks, as after updating the game to version 1.3, no option files wanted to work...I didn't understand it...but it was sad nonetheless.

Anyways I'm very excited for PES this year! Though Fifa is looking decent so far as well, the problem with Fifa is, it's going to be an awesome game but after one manager mode season I'm going to be bored. Nothing and no mode in sports gaming compares to ML. And just thinking of buying players like Oezil and Mueller for my team gives me a hard on! Plus the real Ronaldo will be in the game with his real face! whoop whoop!

If fifa had such a unique gamemode I would'nt have looked back, but even if I play with the real squads on ML I get bored. There is nothing more rewarding and fun to start with a bunch of shitheads and playing your ass off for money too buy better players!

I know Konami come out with the same speel every year, eg - 'This year's PES is gonna be best yet, we've changed everything that was wrong with last years....' but I am a lot more optimistic about PES 2011 for some reason.

Everything that Konami have said so far sounds very promising. I tried Fifa 09 and was impressed for a couple of months but then got bored and went back to PES 2009, even though it was a poor game.

I really hope PES 2011 finally nails everything and we have an almost complete game (AKA PES 5).

From what I've read on this interview by Jon Murphy, we've got reason to be very optimistic.

I love the fact he says people have got very short memories, as Fifa was w**k for 10 years and now people think they're Gods. So true!!

Well, going by the hype and shit talk over the last 3 years PES will suck again this time around and won't have half the improvements needed in which to gain the respect back from the die hard fans still doing the rounds in haunts like this and that is the fact, don't hate me for it.
