I'm pretty bored with UFCU 2010. Mainly because it doesnt give you the freedom and array of moves that you see in real life. Whilst the ground game is pretty good, its flawed and we all know how hard it is to get out of a submission.

I dont think this game that EA are developing will be 'the best' but they have the better basis to make a game like this. They've made the award winning Fight Night titles and they are very good in terms of realism and capturing fighting mechanics. Whilst THQ on the other hand have based their game on the Wrestling series and if you play UFC 2010 you feel that coming into place. If there is a developer who can capture sports motion, its EA. They've been doing this for years.

The only thing that will prevent people from buying this is the selection of fighters. A lot of them dont fight in the UFC but are known outside of the organisation. I feel this will be that case for many years to come. Like how FIFA used to have all the fancy licenses whilst PES had the better gameplay. It wont matter though, having the chance to fight as Couture, Fedor, the Shamrocks, Sylvia, Rutten, Randleman, Militich has me wetting myself. Dana White can fuck off.

Loads of videos can be found here:

Demo is out on September 28th.

I wasn't too impressed with the videos I watched a few months back. I imagine they'll be releasing a demo though before it's release, which is when I'll make my mind up. If they don't, chances are I won't buy it to be honest. I'm still waiting for a good boxing game but that doesn't appear to be on the horizon anytime soon.

From what I've seen it looks rather crap tbh. Saw a demo of Nick Diaz Vs Aoki. Looked rather amateurish. The commentating was horrible to say the least. I'm still pretty happy with UFC2010. It's got it's faults but I still find it enjoyable.

My thoughts exactly. Not too impressed with those videos, the demo should (providing there is one) make my mind up as to whether I get this or not. For now UFC 2010 is still keeping me busy.

Despite what you guys have said, I still recommend you downloading the demo tonight. The impressions have been good, from what Ive read so far. People saying stuff like, "Finally a real MMA game", "striking is superb" etc. I'll give it a go when they decide to release it for PS3.

I had a few games off it and it's not bad but not great either, UFC is still ahead of it by a good distance but there are aspects of it that are interesting and if implied into the UFC title would be fantastic.

For the record the striking is like Fight Night.

I half regret hyping the game so much. It feels very incomplete and will probably take another 2-3 games in order to really complete with UFC.
