Its such a good concept and would add extra depth to online. Really good idea with little if any cons to it. The only con is the people who'll say "Wa wa, now i cant use the best teams wa wa". Well please tell me how many games are there out there where you have instant access to all the best stuff. You dont. You unlock and gain XP earning the best goods.

Or you could let everyone use the best teams but improve the points system. Like if i beat Utd with Wolves then i should get 5x as may points as he would get if he beat me using a big team.
You could also use this increased points system in conjunction with the 1st system. Like if i still wana use small teams even though i have unlocked Utd etc then i should be massivly rewarded for it to temp me away from constantly using powerhouse teams. You would get alot more peeps using lesser teams if you had a decent ranking system that was meaningful combined with lots of points on offer. You could get 100xp for winning with Wolves or get 20 for winning with Utd for example. Unlocking boots and balls etc as you earn XP.
1000XP will buy you a legend who automatically gets put into any team you use online. You could choose to unlock the next batch of teams spending your XP or unlock these novalties. Balls cost 200XP. Next batch of teams cost 2000XP. i duno, just throwing ideas around.
