End Of Stutter Question

Got this from Konami today. Emailed them since the release of the game, and today I can say there is an oficial point of view from Konami. Here it is:

On Behalf of Konami of Europe
We have passed on all information to R&D Department in Japan and are
awaiting a response, but we do not expect a quick reply.

We have carried out our own investigations far as we are aware there is not
a production problem as we have asked people who have telephoned in to give
us these details from the disks and they have been from various batches. We
have also tested some disks that consumers have sent in to us and they all
play in the same way.

It is impossible for us to advise if all PS2 machines have this problem with
PS3 but we do think that some people have noticed the "Stutter" and others
not and is really down to each persons individual perception. The
information on the internet has become somewhat confused and this has caused
people who have not noticed this to look for the "stutter".

There is basically no remedy to this and you have only two options
available, which are;
i) to accept the game as it is
ii) to return the game

Washed? You are right. The thing is up to us now. We have to keep this issue on fire!!!! Otherwise Konami becames like EA, no respect for the customers and release BETA versions of pieces of software that are really expensive. If you ask me, these type of stupidity is what make so many people turn to piracy and CHIP their PS2. Accept the game as it is? A game that got 10/10 or 96/100? With a bug like this? And all you people that say that you have a stutter free PES3, look better. My bet is it also stutters!!! I really love the series, but messing up the playability is something I cant forgive Konami. We have to write this to the magazines. This forums are obviousliy filled with PES fans. Konami got to be aware that in version 4 we might not buy it like we all did this time: trusting they would deliver a perfect game. Or at least without bad programing bugs like this stutter thing. We are playing PES3 with a very noticiable bug that didnt exist in PES2. And as PES fans we have the right to be angry about paying so much for a beta version of our favoutite game!

My WE7 has a bit of stutter with the commentary on.
My PES3 has never had any stutter. I do know what it looks like and it's not there.

I have a stutter with my copy of WE7 and if what people are getting is what I'm getting and no worse then they should just stop whining because it doesn't affect the game at all as far as I'm concerned. If it makes the game unplayable then you should get a refund.

I don't know why so many of you have stutter problem whether it is PES3 or WE7. I never had any stutter playing WE7 or PES3, they both play smooth. However, WE7 makes alot of noice in my PS2 while you play the game it spins so much making this messed up noice, but it plays smooth.

I have had it completely with Konami. They disrespect their customers by putting a BETA version up for sale. As I speak Japanese, I am going to call their headquarters to complain to them in their own %^&& lenguage!

yeah, baren, dot that. Whatever they try and say, and even if the stutter is small, it doesn't matter. The fact is Konami relseased a game with a bug in it, ok I can manage as its long a long stutter, but its still not acceptable, it can be quite annoying when it glitches during a goal kick, or when the ball is in midfield....just basically, it shouldnt be there, and I dont have too much a problem whilst playing, but although I wish it werent there...there response of like it or lump it is just out of order.

Today got another email from them:

This game, as all PlayStation games, was tested by Sony Q&A and was passed.
Also this was reviewed by games journalists where it was not reported. We have had very few consumers report to us this situation. Although we have
had consumers report this it has been minimal. Our feeling is that the internet has fuelled some negative responses. Unfortunately there is no way we can resolve this problem but changing the crowd stance to neutral seems to reduce this problem in exhibition modes only.

I'm sorry this is not the response you wanted but unfortunately this is the situation as it is.

They defend with the magazines... We know that the game was reviewed in a beta stage. Just look to the pictures. They are from the beta. Everyone with a task to review a game cant pass a bug like that without pointing it in a review. They hoped it would be gone in the final copy. Thats what usually happens. 10/10 or 96/100?? Please... Great soccer game, but KONAMI missed the chace to make a fabulous game... just manages to be a great game...

BUt they think its only affecting a few people, but I have seen it in alot of forums with alot of people experiencing the stutter...and for the record....the crowd stand is always set to neutral, but I still get so they are talking crap, besides why should we have to turn off certain features like lowering the commentary level as someone once mentioned...then it becomes a problem, if you have to turn off things which enhance the gameplay. But I dunno, I guess we can't do anything apart from starting a petition and getting as many people on it as possible, but i dunno if its worth it, or if will even begin to change anything...Looks like its the final word from Konami...bitterly disappointed.

The stutter is a minor point in the gameplay. Just Stick with the first point Konami Mentioned. accept it.

You have to understand something. There is few of you that have stutter problem, whether it is PES3 or WE7. Many people on the other hand are fine with it, even if they have the stutter they don't complain. I'm sick and tired watching all these threads about stutter thingy. If it bothers you, then go play something else. You have to agree with me. Konami, a multi million dollar company is not going to listen to some teenagers for sure.

People Hi!!!
try the following.
Start your PS2. You get 2 options :Browser and Configuration. On that screen press the triangle button. On the screen you see change the speed of the drive to FAST (from Standard) and the Graphics mode to SMOOTH (from Standard I think). When this is done try your PES3 and see.... I had a bif stutter problem (on the goalline, in the midfield, everywhere) and now almost nothing!!!! its quite amazing. Give it a go it might work for you.

Yeah it might...oh wait, no, it won't -- since those options only affect PSone games, and aren't considered at all by the PS2 when playing a PS2 game.

Hmm, I dunno...I tried it just a while ago for the hell of it....and the stutter wasnt that bad....maybe it is caused by the disk loading...so changing the setting may do the trick...but yeah, that is a PSone option isnt it? but when I played it did stutter less..or am I imagining it? not sure now....
