European Cup results as Slovenia

I got the game last monday and the first thing I did was to play a friendly match as Ecuador. Playing at the highest difficulty level, I decided to play an European Cup as Slovenia in those 7 team groups.

So far my results are:

Slovenia - San Marino: 3-1
Kazakhstan - Slovenia: - 0-1
Slovenia - Netherlands: 0-0
Belarus - Slovenia: 1-0
Denmark - Slovenia: 2-1
Slovenia - Belgium: 1-1
San Marino - Slovenia: 0-0 (I was shocked after this!)
Slovenia - Kazakhstan: 3-2 (scored the third goal at the last second)
Netherlands - Slovenia: 0-1

Right now I'm fourth and I need to beat Belarus and Denmark to clinch the third spot and just cross my fingers in hope of qualifying as one the best third-placed teams.

This is the mode I like the best, it's just so entertaining!

Well, that's it, wish me luck.;)

Other than the results against Holland that's pretty realistic, I'm gonna give it a go with Scotland...I hadn't realised the missing teams like San Marino were in the qualifying mode, are you playing 360 or ps3?

Does it progress into the final tournament? If so, good luck!

Yes, it's pretty realistic, that's what I like about PES... all the other european countries are in the qualifying mode, except Montenegro.

I'm playing on PS2 and it does progress to the final tournament. My only goal with Slovenia is to qualify:happy:

What's the ps2 version like? I havent seen it anywhere, how much is it in HMV/zavvi etc? I only moved to 360 with this version...and i'm missing the ps2 pad. I'll probably go buy it if it's cheap.

Next gen version has nice graphics but gameplay doesn't feel quite right - passing is waaaay too fast!

Well, I got a copy from a partner at work, really got no idea about the price.

The graphics are OK, just a little better than last year's PES. I'm definitely buying a PS3 just to play this game on it, the graphics look great and the gameplay should be good too.

I can't speak for the ps3, but the xbox version i've got is taking a lot of getting used to...i'm gonna go through all the main teams and make most players about 1/99 for acceleration and short pass speed - just to give it some ps2 realism. Hope you're not disappointed with ps3 version but to be honest it's gone a bit trashy/arcadey, on xbox at least.

At first I thought the PS2 version was a little too fast, too many collisions between players, but quickly got used to that. The passing system is faster than the previous version and can get annoying if you're not used to the speed.

But as I said it's just a matter of time until you get used to it. Overall it is a great game if you're a fan of the real thing.

Yeah I hear ya mate but im meaning just the pace of the ball as it moves between players, it's like they're on drugs and it looks silly...sometimes i want to just build slowly but it feels like 20 headless chickens running around like nutters - i may take some advice i heard and only use manual passing!

How do you play qual for European cup? Has it something to with the fact that I have PC?

I have never played the PC version, but in PS2 when you choose Cup Mode, it gives you the choice to play the qualifiers of every zone (America, Africa, Asia & Europe).

Just a quick update; I played the remaining matches in my group and these were the results:

Slovenia - Belarus: 2-2
Slovenia - Denmark: 0-0
Belgium - Slovenia: 0-2

I finished third with 20 points but didn't qualify :(

I'm going to try again tonight with another team:)

Strange I can't choose to do that:|

It's just after you choose "new cup" within cup mode. The you choose the type of cup, name of the groups, number of players and the format of the tournament (qualifiers, group stage or knockout rounds)
