Sorry Must vent.

My 360 just $hit itself. 3 flashing red lights on the front console. Means I have to send it in to Microsoft. Estimated time due to the holidays, 1 month.

I've heard about so many guys that had the same thing happen to them. You'd think Microsoft would sort their sheeyat out before releasing a console with so many bugs, freezes and crashes.

It's just crap. you pay top dollar for a microsoft product just for it to sit in the shop getting fixed, at holiday time. About the only time I can sit down and sink my teeth into PES6 on Live.

Not happy.

Feel like I've been ripped off by the 3rd richest company in the world.

how long do you play it at 1 session the most i have is 2 hours and when did you buy your 360

The longest its been on for is around 4 hours. On average though, about 2 hours. 2-3 games of pro evo and I'm done for the day. Thing is I've taken good care of it. I keep it covered when I'm not using it, there's not a grain of dust on it, and when I'm playing on it, it's in a well ventilated area. Microsoft shoulda put more exhuast fans in them, they run way to hot. I'm not suprised it $hit itself really, with how hot it runs.

I got it on release day in Oz, 23-03-06 ... So it's about 9 months old.

I am bummed right out

man you should've takin it back to store you got it from, as long as the 1 year warranty isn't up they replace the console for you so you don't have to wait weeks for repair. happened to me just last week

I've had my xbox 360 replaced once, the 3 red lights problem, as soon as I can get my hands on a ps3, I'll trade this piece of shit for it. :realmad:

see ... Thats shit. 3 red lights problem again. I know atleast 9-10 guys over at Operation Sports .com who've had the exact same problem. You would think Microsoft would sort their shit out, huh?

EB games wouldn't swap my xbox on account of me not buying the extended 2 year warranty for $179 ... What a joke. Throw another 200 hundred down on a $750 machine which works intermittingly.

Another real bad thing is you send it general post, with Microsoft saying any damage occured during postage voids your warranty... WTF???

So if my xbox gets smashed up in the post, or worse yet, stolen! I get nothing for my trouble.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

Whats worse is ... Who's to say I won't get my 360 back, just for it to fuck up again after my 1 year warranty does expire. Then I gotta pay for it to be fixed outta my own pocket.

Screw that.

I'm doin that same pategato ... The very second I can trade my 360 for a PS3, I'm on it.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here but I find this whole situation ironic.

All I usually see here is people pissing and moaning about the PS2 Disc Read Error problem when it looks like Microsoft has it's own set of hardware problems.

And to those wanting to trade in their 360 for a PS3 thinking that they're going to get a better and more reliable console, think again. :erm:

Sony have been having hardware problems with almost everything that they're manufacturing these days. They had to call back the Laptop batteries that they made because they would overheat and catch on fire if left connected to the mains too long. Not to mention the problems the PSP has had and the Digital Cameras they had to call back due to hardware problems and you can see that logically they'll be something wrong with the PS3 as well.

My guess is that it'll be a lens problem again and that one of the parts of the lens will die after a few years (most likely either the BD or DVD part of the lens).

I won't bet on PS3 being any more reliable than x360...
the heat generated from that machine should be similar or even higher than 360s...

anyway... I'm getting a little worried right now... I might go and buy the extended warranty soon...

but I read reports saying that MS has fixed the problem for 360s manufactured after 2006....

yep.. I got my old PS2 DVD lense replaced twice... during its 5 yrs of use...
the thing is BD lens will cost you a LOT MORE
