Yeah, but it's still Disappointing.. and then again, the FACT that Pace is everything fucks the game completely, they need to get it right; there's Pace, but there's also Technique (Dribbling Skill) -and- there's also "Reading of the Game" (Tactical Skills).
Running around like headless chickens gets Boring after awhile..
That's what makes PES08 so boring to me, everything Depends on Pace -therefore- the fastest players will always have an Advantage, that's a Huge Flaw in my opinion.
Oh and I almost forgot, Defensive Play (Defending) is blatantly Boring and a complete waist of effort. There must be a Balance between Defenders and Attackers, the Advantage an Attacker haves over a Defender is HUGE in PES08.
I can keep going with the; Unplayable Online Mode, Worthless Edit Mode, Outdated Master League, Outdated Stats and Special Abilities, etc, etc.. Maybe PES08 isn't as Bad as some people (Myself included) think, but it definitely isn't "great", and it certainly was a Disappointment.. that's a well known FACT by now.

fifa has lame gameplay but incredible depth,pes is the opposite thing. it comes down to your choice,gameplay or depth?

yeah i agree i wish konami and ea come together and make one game but it's impossible,if ea doesn't buy konami
fifa is going to be really strong this year check out trailer on official website it looks really good, i prefered fifa 08 to pes 08 which made me sad in itself. i like pes but 08 was to fast and fifa online play is so much fun. i will ofcourse buy both games again this season but i just hope konami have made big improvements to keep up with the times .

Yeah i do get the idea of a "trailer". Hooking me into buying it
. Personally I ignore trailers. As movies show ---> trailer looks great ---> movie might suck. I personally believe PES will have better gameplay as usual. I will pick up both and judge for myself.
When it comes to the business world EA is winning. They have managed to close the gap and hook PES fans like me into buying Fifa based on curiosity

Why do EA insist on showing an on the whole, graphically brilliant screenshot, only to completely ruin it by showing the back of Tevez, where the fake HUGE printing of the player names still exists, and the tiny numbering.
I dunno, maybe the numbering is of correct size, but the gigantic lettering makes it seem so small.
your right trailers are hard to judge cause they always look better than actual gameplay. here's a link to show fifa 09 gameplay. after hearing about both games i think both games are going to be great this year. so in the end if you prefer pes now i think you'll still prefer pes in a couple of months time and vice versa with fifa the only difference, will maybe be that both sets of fans will realise both games have something to give.
