I just got PES 2010 in the mail today! Its for the ps2, since I dont have the PS3 yet.
I have been playing PES since ISS pro evolution on PS1. I have played them all and endless hours. I KNOW PES.
So I was reading some replies on this site about how bad the new PES is. And after playing 21 matches today, I just have to get my impressions on text!
Its back! The PES feeling is back. The last 2-3 games has felt a bit alike, gamefeel-way. But 2010 blew me away. Its better handling, feel, etc is wonderful.
The best thing about PES is that when you decide to play good, when you put your A-game, you can really make some damage. I was playing the Champions League mode with Fiorentina and was in the quarter finals against Milan. I lost the first leg 1-0. SO teh next match I decided to go all out give it my best. I mean, its a new game, many new impressions, I was playing my 15th game in a row and was feeling tired. But I just had to play one more match. I like the way you can defend yourself by being aggressive, if you learn the way to tackle, then youre unbeatable. Nothing is like a hard fast tackle. I got a lucky goal with Jovetic, but oh so good goal! He turns lightning fast and makes the ball through the defenders legs! And scores sweetly a low shot with the r2 pressed in. Its game again!
Later on in the match I feel great! I have the ball most, I tackle everytime a hit, I have many chances. This was way different than last game! Thats the best about PES, no match are the same, no goals are the same. I think I got 4 own goals on 21 matches, 4 penalties, 1 red card, 4 lost games, 2 draws, and 15 wins. And I can remember some memorable moments from every match!
And now its 10 minutes left in the match. And Jovetic is running, he has yellow arrow today, and runs faster than Gattuso. He comes from the side I run down, end of the 16 yard box, I know Gilardino is coming on the opposite side, I pass it down. ANd what happends?? The referee blows! For what?? Oh! Its Dida! He tackled Jovetic right after he passed it. I was too busy concentrating on Gilardino! And Dida gets a red card, and I get penalty!!! Great!! Haha, Im so happy! This is late in the game, and I need a goal now!
Storari, the old Levante hero gets on the field, Milan got 10 men now.
Who other than Mutu takes it? NOOO!!! Storari saves it! In that moment I was cursing the PS2 for knowing what I pressed and then saved my kick!! I mean, surely its a trick!! AAAGGGHHH! SO close to go to the semi's!!!
So..No goal yet. And you know what I also like in the matches? When a CPU team is down on goals, the always attack with red (l2+r1) in the end of matches to pressure! And what a good moment to it! They took out a defender for Storari, and its on overtime now. The have a freekick, shoots it on my wall that I jump up of course. Then Head the ball down to Vargas who is a left winger this match. Vargas is open! There is no right defender! So I run, I know if I lose the ball now the ref. will blow off. I concentrate everything I can and see that Gilardino and Jovetic is coming, with 3 defenders. What should I do?? I run as fast as I can towards the point of the 16 yard box. One defender is close now, I press R1 to make Vargas stop instantly, the defender is down on his ass, I cross up towards the Storari, Hes coming towards me! I press r2 to position myself to the goal, and press 2 times backwards, then cross up!!! It works!!!Im past Storari! Open goal! Just for the fun of it I make a chip shot in goal. Why not make it all about nice!
This is soooo saved into my replays!!! One of the best, most important goals of my pes time HAHA! I LOVE PES 2010!!!
