Fix Mode Addition Ideas

I`m sure I`m not the only one who has played using "Fix" mode, taking control of just 1 player and playing matches as just them.

Why don`t Konami expand upon this idea to take it even further out in front as the best footy game ever?

My idea:

Why don`t they let you create a custom player, and start with a base level of skill points to distribute to your player.
You can pick his age or start at the default 16yrs old (defines career length)

Now you start at a low club and maybe have to impress in training before you get your first sub appearance etc.
Maybe there would even be interim targets you have to hit in training to qualify....as well as gaining skill points for the training areas you are doing (maybe they are preset for certain days of the week?)

When you eventually break into the team you would (obviously) try your hardest and you`d be given additional points depending on your performances in the game (passing, shooting, heading etc) as well as the points you gain in training.

Clubs could come in and bid for you, you`d get injuries, suspensions etc so woul dhave to watch your tackling to avoid a repeat of Roy Keane and the Champions League Final :)

Ultimately the goal would be to get to a big club and ply your trade along with the superstars, although by the time your a star I guess Ronaldinho, Beckham et al would be at returement age...which could be a problem...but anyway....

I think this would be a great addition to PES and would add so much to the Fix mode of playing, it would be like another full game inside PES!

This along with my requests for the resurection of the Scenario Mode would be my PES wishlist (along with better throw ins - why can`t you control the runners!)

What do you all think?

You can choose fix mode on the pad selection screen, keep moving until the cursor says "fix" and then on the formation screen you can choose which player you want to be.

As for boring, I guess it would be, but isn`t it boring in real life when your starting out?

As well as starting your own player you could "be" a player from the game, using Match Mode teams.... of course being a Man Utd fan I play fixed mode as Rooney :)

Cant you already do this to a certain degree. Start a ML team and buy a youngster and build him up or make yourself in edit mode/create player and buy him for the ML team and only play with him. As for getting transfered that will happen aswell if you do well. Would rather have a complete overhaul of the ML with a feature like this added into it as an additional option. What would be a good addition to the ML is a challenge training like the one to get points. But instead of pes points you can build up your player(s). Not a big difference in overal ML but it would make your idea work better.

Yeah the way the leagues are setup is pretty pants, although they have improved it slightly for PES5.

They need to pick the major leagues they want in and sort out that crap transfer system - at least let us have proper currency!!!

These were some of the reasons I wanted to create a management game and use PES5 as the match engine, as it were.

I posted a week or two ago about help in accessing the data PES produces in its full time reports, but had no replies.

If I could get access to this data (score, scorers, injuries, shots, possesion and all that stuff) then I was planning to write a footy management game around the PES engine, which would allow you to manage your club and all the other stuff, and then play the games using PES5.

If someone was willing to help with this and I could get at the data somehow, then I would also like to write a game based around the fix mode, where as has been said, you could deal with sponsors, wages, contract negotiations, player of the month, player of the year, you could go on loan, top scorers etc etc.

I am at uni doing Bsc(Hons) Computer Games Software Development so the actual game programming wouldn`t be a problem, but getting the data from PES is proving tricky.

Hey rikman, thats my idea, well sort of, well not really, but on the same lines but online. Read my thread http://forum.pesinsight.com/showthread.php?t=28939

I already play like tiktiktiktik suggested but would like to see this move to the next level where you have all players human controlled, with the goal of becoming the best player on the net.

Its been written that a lot of pros play the game, you could be in the team playing along side them!!!

The reason that its not my idea as such is because there was a game on the Atari ST (do you know what that is?) called Player manager, basically if your player was not involved in the game you could only manage the team.

But player cam is my favourite view by far, it just needs some tweeking.

I remember Player Manager, had it on the Amiga.

It was done by Dino Dino and Steve Screech, who went on to do the Kick-Off series and then Goal! which I remember getting into for a short time..... Sensi all the way for me (well, SWOS :))

I found it funny when they introduced "fixed" on PES3. My mate Graham always insisted on being the goalie. Would come up for corners and most of the time he'd score!

Kick-Off 2 for me, Quality in its time, we used to but outfield players in goal though to make it a little more realistic. But loved SWOS too, but Emlyn Hughes Soccer for the ST was my out and out favourite!

No way man - LOL!!!

I used to LOVE Emlyn Hughes, I edited all the kits and players and everything to make it more realistic...hahaha!

It was the first game that allowed you to pass in a direction you weren`t facing, and the players actually had a bit of weight. ie They could bump into each other :)

I scored a few 30-40yd screamers on that game, then I moved onto its sequel - Wembley International Soccer :)

there was a management game called Super league Manager on the Amiga, the A500 version used Emlyn as its match engine, and the A1200 AGA and CD32 versions used Wembley...

You could hit some right sweet passes on Wembley....ahhh the memories....

Nikman, seems like we followed the same footballing routes, I moved on to Wembley when it came out too, good memories mate! My friends and I would spend hours bidding for players to make up teams, then having tournies. For me Emlyns, and then Wembley were the best games of their day.

I did like, MatchDayII on the C64 the games was slow but you had good control of the passing!

When I change the mode to fix, how can I select which player I want to play as? (Don't say go on to Formation because Im on there and it is just the normal screen etc.)

Use the Square button in the "Player Settings" screen, scroll down and you will see P1 next to a player, press x and then move to the player that you want, press x again and you are good to go.

It usually brings up a screen asking you to set your player before it lets you change man etc.

If not do what red said.

red: Yeah mate, seems we did. Suprise suprise I also played Matchday and Matchday 2, and the passing was the best of its time.
Now let`s see how similar we really are, hehe, did you ever play Gary Lineker's Super Star Soccer?
I had it on the Amstrad CPC464 and used to stay up for hours wheeling and dealing and playing the matches...

Then of course there was Euro Manager, Multiplayer Soccer Manager...endless list really.. :)

Do not remember Gary's offerings to be honest, though I never had an Amstrad. I must have played every other game though, both simulation and management. I hope there is nobody up there counting how many hours I have been playing footy games, I will shit myself if I ever see the total, I mean the championship manager series alone took up most of my twenty's, then before that there was Graham Taylors soccer manager which I bored for a while, and of course we have the PES series and its older brother ISS. I do not know how I managed to fit in playing Basketball for my town, American football for GB and Semi-pro football. The days must of been longer I guess!

I pllayed for Hatfield Main, Armthorpe Welfare in the NE Counties, then a stint at West Woodside in the Pontins league. Hurt my back shortly after and have not played more than a few games in a season before it comes back and I am laid out for a week. So now, alas, pro-evo is my outlet if, you know what I mean!

Who did you play for?

An organised league would work though, but you are right about the quick games, and you would get some shocking players who would try and dribble from their own goal and not think twice about passing!

Thats the thing though, players will go for glory all the time just to prove there the best.

If there was a group of friends that are not glory hunters, then they would be one of the best because they work as a team. But you wont really find many of them, everyone wants glory in fix mode.
