While on the Konami page today I noticed this on there that would sum quite a bit up on those cards.

Dear PES-Fans,

we heard that some players are experienceing technical problems with PES3, especially using a Geforce 4 MX Graphics Card.

We would like to point out that a Geforce 4 MX does not match our minimum system requirements for the game, which is apparently a Geforce 3. Unfortunately, the specs of a Geforce 4 MX are below the specs of a Geforce 3, which is a bit irritating due to the naming of the product.

If you want to have a smoother game performance, we suggest to upgrade your graphics card.

Any line of GF cards that carry the lame "MX" title are totally bunkered video cards. Same goes for ATI cards which have SE at the end. Any gamers rule of thumb. Do not buy cards with MX or SE as more than likely it is crap.

Totally agree with that, thats why I damned those cards so heavily in my graphics card guide...they should not be around any longer, or plugged by retailers, as good cards, because they never have been, and never will. And it is no where near a Geforce 3, more a geforce 2 ti revamped, but with plenty problems, thats all.

........is it ?

If the NVDIA MX VidCard Family is really caused this problem, why if i doubled the speed of match, the game runs too fast, even if i have set the configuration to the highest resolution, it still too fast to be played. I even have to turn on 2 or 3 realtime program checker like antivirus and utilities to turn it slower.
If the slowdown caused by the VidCard, the game should not running too fast (very fast indeed), because it should has been pushed to its highest performance in normal speed.

And about the momentarily slowmotion in the middle of the match, haven't you noticed ? the slowmotion was not happen if you dribble the ball without an enemy in front of you. So i assumed that the program will slowmotion if it's necessary, like if we straggle to defense or try to avoid the enemy tackle. It would be easier to handle the ball if its slowdown.

This is only my opinion, I am sorry if i was wrong. ;)

The game appears to chug when it has to calculate for everyone on the screen at the same time, like for a free kick at the edge of the box. Thats a programming issue with konami and porting the game over.

As for your game running too fast, the double speed option is supposed to make the game go at hyper speed. If your game doesnt run correctly with that off, then there are larger issues on your system.

Btw. i only wonder, why u have so poor graph.card like fx5200, if the rest of the system is top-notch. In result - very unbalanced system.

To be fair, the system above might not have been bought with gaming in mind, and the truth is a lot of people cannot decode computer jargon across all areas of hardware. Any guidance is appreciated.

At least a graphics card can be upgraded.

t1000v2.0, on your site you say:
B Class Cards
Nvidia Geforce 4 Titanium 4200/4400 64/128mb
Nvidia Geforce FX 5600
Radeon 9500/9600 pro/9600 XT

These cards should run the game quite well,...

A Class Cards (The premier League)
Nvidia Geforce 4 Titanium 4600/4800
Nvidia Geforce FX 5800/5900 ultra 128mb/256mb
Radeon 9700/9700 pro 128mb
Radeon 9800/9800 pro/9800 XT 256mb

On a new PC being bought, would it be worth paying extra to go from a 128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 XT (TV Out + DVI) to any of these upgrades...

128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (+ £75)
128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All-in-Wonder (+ £115)
256MB nVIDIA GeForce FX 5950 Ultra - TV Out + DVI (+ £150)
ATI Radeon 9800 XT - TV Out + DVI (+ £160)

(DVI is preferred, given an monitor upgrade from a 17" analogue to 19" with DVI)

If the basic appears closest to those named in your A Class, is the upgrade really about giving the graphics system enough power to cope with the next generation of games?

[Edited to add:]I see you've commented positively on the card on this thread already, and it does get very positive conclusions here. So any point in an upgrade in 2004, or save it until 2006?

i think that the 5900 that you have listed will be sufficient for upcoming games
save your cash for the games

you wont see that much improvement with a 9800 or a 5950 to warrant the cost.

Try getting rid of some services...

If you're running XP, one thing you can do to improve preformance quite a bit is get rid of all the extra services. I'm sure if you have a well tuned PC, the game will run ok on an MX440.
I have it running fine on a GEF 2 MX, athlon 1600+ (slightly oc'd). Granted, in 640-480, low detail, but that will have to suffice until my new radeon gets here next week.

Here's a sight that should help you out with getting the services and background stuff turned off:
