Erm, not sure I quite understand what you're asking. Do you want to know:
a) how to stop the keeper from advancing out of his goal
b) how to stop the keeper from taking free kicks
?

im guessing he ment to to conceed long ranged goals...
and for the actual question- all you can do is curse the stupid AI... i only play assited, but maybe try to change the player setting to semi/not assited? i persume you'r not pressing the :triangle:(bring keeper out button)...

Yeah you have zero control of the keeper when it comes to making saves, the only control you have is by using Triangle to have him charge the ball... that's pretty much all you can do.
