Goalkeeper put the ball down?

Does anyone know how to make goalkeeper put the ball down! I tried R1 or L1 +L but it didn't work!:erm:

pretty sure its release directional stick and then press R1 on playstation

what is the issue with using R2 with a lob kick by the goal keeper when he is holding it? each tim e i do it the keeper booms one out laterally no matter which direction I hold the left stick [ps3]. Is this just broken?

I wasn't sure about this for a while either until I checked the command list a few weeks ago. I use Fifa controls so for me it is R2 and nothing else. So it should be R1 and nothing else for you unless you are using Fifa controls like me.
