Hello there!
Swedish guy living in Japan since a few years back. I've always known the game as "Winning Eleven", played it since WE 7, but I don't know which PES that would be.
I was a little disappointed that they didn't name it Winning Eleven Eleven, but I guess people would get confused.
Anyhoo, I played it on my PS2 until WE 10, but now I play WE 2008 on the Xbox360. Personally, I think that the 2008 edition is one of the worst so far, but I still play it everyday :) Hope that 2009 edition will be better though.

Hmm... What else to write? I didn't look what other people wrote... maybe I should have done that.

My favourite players are:
Henrik Larsson (I'm obliged to love him as I'm swedish, but I do it anyway)
and Sulley Muntari (I thought he was wonderful in the last world cup)

And ooh! I have a question for YOU! *pointing* (I know pointing is rude but...)
In the European and American versions, are there many Japanese players and are they very cheap and very good?
The Japanese version ofcourse crawls with Japanese players, and they're very good. OK, maybe not like Messi-good or C. Ronaldo-good. But a team with only Japanese player's a really good team. Though you'll need someone in front, coz their strikers can't score.

Thank you.

Hello welcome to the site. To answer your question, yes the Japanese players are relatively good players that are found at a cheap price.

BTW, what is your favorite club.

Thank you!
Well, my favourite team is actually a Japanese team called Cerezo Osaka... but that's cause I used to live there.
Lately, becaue of the time zone difference, I have trouble keeping up with European football. Though I used to like Arsenal and their attacking football. I still like them but I don't know what kind of football they play now. Still Wenger, so I guess it's the same?
And I kind of always support the underdog... last season it was Birmingham...
Spain: Deportivo La Coruna
Italy: Inter & Napoli
France: none really...
Netherlands: Ajax
Germany: none really... just don't want Bayern to win.
uhm, Sweden: My hometown, Orebro.
