I actually have a twin layer drive,my bottom one is available to use as it is empty,my top is for currently my DVD-RW,can I slot it into the bottom one??? Cheers guys,really appreciate this.

the current drive i am using is a hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-h40n ata device.
anyone know if this is an ide,as if it is,I will just remove and replace with the samsung.

you must be able to tell the difference when you open the PC up. Does it have a "ribbon like" cable to connect to the motherboard (IDE) or is it a wee red cable (SATA)
