Hey everyone. I'm American, I'm sorry. I call it football, because that's what it is, and I love the crap out of it. I'm new to the board and to the PES series. In the past I've been a fan of the FIFA series, but probably because I was ignorant of the fact that FIFA wasn't the only option. After meeting some other football fans in my first year of graduate school I learned of the PES series and heard stories of how much better the gameplay was than the FIFA games, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I got PES 2008 four days ago and have logged several hours playing a few exhibition and several ML matches late at night, sacrificing sleep in an effort not to suck (I'm failing miserably at that, I'm so awful). From what I've read here and elsewhere, it seems the most recent incarnation of the game is no better than previous versions, perhaps even a step back, but it's at least a bit better, in terms of the feel of the game, than FIFA. At any rate, glad to be present, happy footy-ing.
