Here is a short clip highlighting a problem I have with defending some goals.

Any help would be great.

P.S. This is during a high difficulty MyClub game so I would prefer advice and opinions from those with a high level of MyClub experience at high levels.

My advice from my own experience of conceding a lot of goals is be ultra aggressive in your defending style hard tackling i give away countless fouls but i concede less goals, if you stand off and give the AI time and space they punish you, close down space and use aggressive challenges it works for me most of time.

Ok, yea I normally go gun-ho when the shit hits the wall but in this example I couldn't even get close to do any of that.

I don't see the examples happening from that video during my games so i can't really help with that but just in general i find being really aggressive helps but i do occasionally get carried away and end up down to ten men :realmad:

fatehasfans bro, could you list the offensive and defensive tactic you use in myClub. Also include, if possible, why you use certain tactical settings? I'm trying to ascertain what is the type of football you want to play. Plus, what is the Team Spirit/Chemistry level for defensive and offensive tactics.

I would love to think formation has something to do with it but as you can see strategy wasn't exactly the problem, actually getting near the ball was.

But to give you the information you asked for I picked a manager with 4-2-3-1 (Arsenal's formation) and my chemistry/team spirit is in the high 80s for defensive formation - unfortunately I cannot individually assign defenders to mark key players one to one, but even with that in the example I showed I don't think would have made any difference because again it wasn't a formation/strategy issue.

Thanks for sharing. But I really just wanted to know what setting were you using from FLP/AOD and CSV/AGG and if the Defensive and Offensive Tactics share those same instructions. You mentioned in the video that you switched to defensive because you just scored.
Agressive setting would mean the closest player rushes towards the ball carrier and the conservative setting would do the opposite. FLP/AOD effect what area of the pitch does the AGG/CSV apply.

Hi,
I try to match the players/positions with those similar to the managers.

The manager's style is:

Def = AOD
Pressure = CSV
ATK = CTR
ATK (area) = WDE

I can link the rest if you need but I thought these were the most important for this discussion.
Anyway, nothing changes when I switch through the 3 strategies (Def, Attack main, attack sub) except ATK, the rest remain unchanged.

It would make sense to switch to a manager with AGG and FLP if my team only played this way defensively but they don't - when I feel my team are moving well they defend completely differently so they'll close down quickly, mark tightly, and generally be well positioned. However, when things go tits up and they suddenly start playing sloppy it's a completely different story and my issue with the solution being tactical is that sometimes you don't know your team's performance has dropped until the computer does something like in what I've shown.
The computer does this, sucker-punch goal, so quickly that having a tactic as backup wouldn't really work simply because of the speed at which they do it, I mean by the time you notice your player aren't closing down and change tactic (usually 1-2 passes) they would already be in a scoring position as in the example I highlighted (which took 3 passes and that's with AI playing back to defence!!!!). So imagine what time you have when they decide to cut you open when in your own half!
So overall I'm thinking that realistically there would be no time for a strategy change to be implemented in time to make a difference. what do you think?

Thoughts welcome.

By the way what level of MyClub are you at?

By the way what level of MyClub are you at?

I skipped buying the game this year, played a lot of it last year.
Are you sure AOD and conservative is a good idea if defense could goof up like that. Perhaps try switching to FLP with CVS or AOD with Aggressive. FLP with AGG spoils the shape and compactness of your defense IMO. Also, containment area wide is a bit of a gamble.

PS you can use different managers for main and sub tactics this year.

Well this is my issue, I can play a game (a MyClub first round cup match) and win 34-0 and my defence is as tight as a baby's bottom...

...yet I play another match and lose 5-0 and seem to have no part in preventing them. How can strategy be to blame?

I am not saying that tactics are the sole problem. I am saying that we look at everything that could be contributing to the problem.
As for different games having different outcomes tactics play out differently with different players. Its like opera, performances of the actors matter a lot.

I get what you're saying and would agree if the pattern was completely randomized, sadly I don't think it is.

What is consistent is that when the difficulty moves up the playing options and user-orientated outcomes (I.e. your controls, their outcomes and the behaviour of your players) can change dramatically for (usually large) periods of time during the game
For example, when this happens, you can be sure that when you enter the opponents half with the ball your passing options/support suddenly dry up and you are forced backwards, out to the wing or into a corner and eventually you will lose the ball, furthermore you will be forced to make the same choices again and again (as L1+R-stick will momentarily not work or the player who is supposed to make a run doesn't bother).
To add to this the shooting will change so where I was hitting shots from everywhere with depth and power in the Easy game suddenly my shots will have much less power and any that aren't hit low tend to 'float' more in the air than normal, it's almost as if it's a completely different shooting system.

My defence to will suddenly begin to get sloppy and weird sudden changes will happen all over the pitch (players slipping, running into each other, momentarily not move for the ball etc etc).

So why is this?

Why in one game can my controls (and players) be/feel sharp and consistent then in the next game sluggish and inconsistent, all things equal (except difficulty)?
Surely that's not right, does anyone feel the same here? (I am talking MyClub btw). Surely some of you have at times during games suddenly thought "jeez what's happened to my passing?", "why aren't any of my players supporting me?" or "why are my shots suddenly so crap?" barring the other 'weird' stuff that happens to players you get the picture.

This seems to be how the increase in difficulty is implemented. By forcing limitations upon you and not actually allowing you to operate under the same conditions as the Easier level. So essentially the actual difficulty stays the same but for large periods of the game the controls will become extremely dulled and outside (or unexplained) forces will seem to have a negative impact on the behaviour of my players.

So this brings me to strategy... when this happens am I supposed to change tactics? Is it a signal for me to make changes otherwise I am likely to concede? I'm trying to understand that perhaps this is Konami's way of saying "You must make a change to nullify this condition" - is that where the tactical element comes into the game? Perhaps it does, what is your opinion on the matter.

I think people who play MyClub at professional or above will have noticed at some point their team performing in a strange manner at times and the behaviour of their team and the opposition as very questionable and grossly unfair, and could perhaps, like me, feel that it was outside of their control. Which is why I would love to hear some feedback from high experienced MyClub players. I want to know what their views are on those moments they concede very dubious goals.
