How can Next Gen Consoles improve the ML Mode??

Firstly, I want to make it clear that this isn't strictly about PES09.. Although, it is pretty much about what we have seen so far (barely nothing) about PES09 and the ML Mode.

With the 18 pics released today, I noticed that one of them had "the World Player of the Year" award -and- another one that mentioned something about the "best 11" of the season.

So at least we'll be seeing some New Details in the ML, as we didn't have a "Team of the Year" before.. as well as I'm left asking IF winning the World Player of the Year award will actually Reflect on the player's Value and Reputation.

But anyways, with those pics we got to see; Press Conferences, locker room scenes, fans welcoming a New Signing, etc, etc.. And I'm wondering IF Next Gen Consoles are Capable of taking it further in that respect..

Maybe Simulating the Press (Media).. Like for example, Introducing a Significant New Feature to the ML Mode, something like a "Press Room" or "Media Center", a place to see the Reviews of all the matches -or- to read Invented rumors by the press, etc, etc..

This way we could Read the Reviews of our Next Opponents -and- we could judge on who's On form and who's off. As well as it would also Improve what Probably Is The Poorest Aspect about PES; the Commentaries, and the overall Realism of the ML.

Just imagine it, after each game, the Review of your match appears in the "Press Room".. Maybe if you are Man Utd, and Cristiano Ronaldo disappeared in an Important game -maybe- if this happens something titled "Ronaldo, Big Game Flop" will appear on the Press Room.

Imagine How Much Realistic the ML would feel with a well structured "Press Room".. And when I say well structured I mean really complicated, full of Depth, something that isn't Repetitive like the current system where players get the same Ratings and Reviews (comments) game after game.

If someone had already mentioned something Similar Before, or someone who likes -or doesn't likes the Idea.. Any Comments are appreciated.

And finally, the reason why I'm posting this, Do any of you guys have a Clear Idea of the True Potential of a Next Gen Console??

If so, I wanted to ask IF a Next Gen Console haves the Potential of, in this case, Implementing a well structured and complex "Press Room" to the ML Mode.. Is it possible?? And if so, How far could it go?

Yeah, I was thinking about this a while back. It would be great.

Almost like the manager games that are out.

Would be pretty interesting to have it though. FIFA has a very basic thing like this, once every few games you get asked a question relating to the season/players and how you respond changes your popularity/team morale etc.

This is a good idea though, they could implement that into the 'Press Room' and you are asked questions about the game and certain players. I believe one day it will be pretty in depth but not for a few more years.

How you 'perform' in the press room can determine your popularity amongst your team/fans/board. Say the right things and players morale and determination could increase, and visa versa for saying the wrong things.

Yeah, the "Press Room" could have a LOT of Depth.. and what I mean by "Press Room" is something very complex, like a Web right inside of the game, a Press room where the Questions asked to you are Publicized, Reviews of all the games are publicized, Invented Rumors by the press, etc, etc..

A Press Room where articles aren't just short crappy ones -but- really well structured News, like the ones we usually read on the Newspaper, something that looks like a Journalist wrote it -rather- than something that looks as though a 10 year old is giving Ratings and Reviews.

Check Out "www.goal.com/en/" -and- you'll see something very similar to what I mean by "Press Room". It would be kind of cool if the News actually reflected a bit on the Player's Mentality.

And also on the Manager's Reputation.. for example, if you Consistently release Confident and Arrogant comments to the public -then- the Press can write an article about the Similarities between Mourinho and this New Manager.

And by the way, the Questions thing you mentioned is brilliant. Just Imagine a system where we are asked Questions -and- we get an extensive Set of answers to choose from.. this way, we can build ourselves our own Reputations and Personalities.

Anyways, I was sure someone else must've had a similar idea.. With Next Gen Consoles -and- the FACT that the ML is just as dull and Unrealistic as ever.. Something like the "Press Room" would give a Significant Update to the ML Mode.

This is "Be A Legend" mode, not Master League Mode

And why Not BOTH???

I would like to Read Reviews and Articles on How this New Manager is taking over the Footballing world, etc, etc.. I would also like to read the Critics when things go badly, and How one of my Star Players suddenly wants to Sign for another Club, etc, etc..

It would be even better to hear the "Commentators" actually talking about the Rumors during Gameplay.. How much Realistic would the game feel??

I think it would be better in the ML Mode, because in the ML we are player-manager.. Whilst on "Be A Legend" mode we are just players. But then again, I don't see Why both Modes can't have the Same Feature.

To be honest, we don't really get "in depth reviews" of games in Football Manager, so it'll be years before we get that in PES.

If we were to be given full articles on games, they'd become repetitive very quickly and boring to read. After the novelty of reading the first few wears off, it'd be an almost un-used feature.

Just a thought...

When you play games why don't YOU write a report on it, and post it in a diary form on here, keeping us up to date with your current game? There should be a section here where people can post diaries of their ML or even Be A Legend.

Yes, we're not getting all of the features we want, but I find it fun playing games and then reporting on them, giving others the chance to read up on my ML. I'm going on a bit now, but that's just a thought that has come from your journalist's write-up of games...

You have a good point there -and- It all depends..

I mean, if the "Press Room" haves Thousands of Words to say pretty much the same thing -then- it would Feel extremely Realistic -as- thats what Most Journalist do in Real-Life.. they Recycle Old News, time after time, but with slightly Different Words.

I think that if Next Gen Consoles could develop a system where the same thing can be said -with- Slightly Different Words, that would Not turn Boring or Repetitive.. that's what I mean when I say "well structured Press Room".

A feature designed so it doesn't sounds Repetitive and Boring -a- System to give that bit of Realism that the ML lacks.

I mean, just Imagine the "Commentators" talking about Rumors during the Gameplay, How cool would that be?? To hear the Commentators going "that's the World Player of the Year with the ball" or "he tends to disappear in Big Matches", etc, etc..

And of course, just like in Real-Life.. after 3 or 4 seasons, most Rumors and Game Reviews should start to sound Repetitive and Boring.. that's Inevitable.

But Overall, I think that something similar (if it's possible) to the "Press Room" would give a whole New Dimension to the ML -and- to PES in general.

I like the idea's that everyone are putting across but i just cant see it happening (certainly not in the next 5 years or so) just because there would have to be so much information stored on the discs aswell as all the space for the way the game is just now i.e with graphics, gameplay etc. But a combination of Champ Manager/Football Manager with Pro Evo would be amazing.

In the next couple of installments of Pro Evo i would like to see things like the training sections more in depth & the transfer system to be improved. Maybe introducing something like a youth squad would be good & keeping an eye on them & selecting the players from that squad & develop them in ur full squad.

I definately don't think that Konami have scratched the surface of the next gen console potential for Pro Evo so i would say the future for the series is bright.

I think the Commentators and the overall Realism of the ML -have- always taken a lot out of the Gameplay, it really dampens the game experience.. it Definitely does Not does any justice to the Gameplay.

I mean, if we are playing in ML Mode -and- we have allowed No Goals in 20 matches, then It would add a lot of Realism if an article popped out in the "Press Room", an article Titled "The Invincibles" or something like that..

An article that really elaborates with Depth and Substance, like for example praising the Individual Defenders responsible for such a Feat, etc, etc..

Or if we are on a record-breaking run of Consecutive Wins, it would be nice if we read an article praising our Individual players that are most responsible for it, praising the Manager for using an effective Tactical Scheme, etc, etc..

It would be even better if it actually reflected on the "Commentaries" during Gameplay.

Something like the "Press Room" would also add Realism in many Aspects.. One of them being "Transfers", imagine a Press Room full of article about the "Signings of the season" -about- How the Signing will turn out to be a Huge Flop, etc, etc.. predictions and Speculation, just like in real-life.

The amount of Improvements a "Press Room" implies are HUGE.. everything would be more realistic, from Transfer Sagas -to- articles about the "World Player of the Year Contenders", and about Who Should Win "The World Player of the Year award".. etc, etc..

It would add a Significant Amount of Realism to the Gameplay.

Definitely, No One has come close to the Potential of a Next Gen Console. And yeah, for the next 3 to 5 years we won't get to see a well structured "Press Room" -but- Next Gen Consoles will Probably get us there.

The Potential truly is Amazing; Graphics, Gameplay, Management, Interactive ML Mode (with Press Room), Commentaries, etc, etc.. Next Gen Consoles came hand-in-hand with New Possibilities, we shouldn't Label things as "Impossible" so early on.

Anyways, a well structured "Press Room" will take years of Development, it will require plenty of Memory, as well as it would come hand-in-hand with an extensive series of Improvements to the "Commentaries" -but- it Would be worth it in the long run.

Can you picture it?? Articles about; Transfer Sagas, Invented Rumors, World Player of the Year award, Overrated Players, Underrated Players, etc, etc.. All of those News Reflected in the Actual Gameplay via "Commentators" and other Instruments.

It would also add even more Realism if the "Press Room" had like 4 Different Columnists, each with their own styles; the Skeptic one, the Optimistic one, the Neutral one, and the one that doesn't seems to understand Football very well.

A similar System could really bring the ML to life.

some of the idead are good like a youth team but at the end of the day ML is great because its simplicity at its best. It rest on gameplay and overcomplicating it would take away from it.

I don't mean to disrespect but.. How exactly would a well structured "Press Room" and "Commentaries" -How- exactly would that take Anything away from the ML??

The Simplicity is in the Gameplay -however- the ML needs a Significant Update -and- the "Press Room" is the perfect feature to bring some new Life to the ML Mode.

Your kind of Attitude of simply Ignoring "Revolutionary Ideas" -and- Labeling them as "Over-Complicating".. that's the kind of attitude that keeps Anything from going forwards and Progressing.

You actually like the Unrealistic and Lifeless ML Mode?? That's cool, just keep playing PES6 and you'll find No Complicated things.

Ive played fifa and manager games and that press stuff etc gets boring after about an hours worth of doing it. After a while it all becomes the same and you just repeat it time after time. Most people after a while would just be button bashing through it to get to the menu.

A youth team where you can buy players to play in it and then your coach sends you a message saying "Aguero is ready for the step up" would be a great touch to it and wouldnt be boring as some players wont make the cut etc and you wouldnt have to tamper with it every game. Things like this would be fun.

Since when is FIFA's system a well structured one?? It's like a 10 year old is asking you the same questions time and time again, it haves no Depth whatsoever.

A well structured "Press Room" would be completely Different.

And as for the Youth Team.. that would also Improve the Realism of the ML, definitely a good feature and worth while.

Although in my opinion a proper "Press Room" System would be more influential.

Yh i guess if you made it really good out right then it may be good but if they bring out a crap press room thingy and do their legendary tweaking year after year then screw it. It has to be great from the off or else it will just be too simple and not very indepth and as i said - button bashing to get through it all and into the menu.

injuries-injuries should have more depth.....If you get tackled in your left foot then you get a sprain,,,,if its a rough tackler, and a injury-prone player, maybe hell get a fracture. Dunno, just something ive personally wanted, all the injuries look the same to me and the guy always walks out holding his butt...

Instead of week 1, 2, 3 etc it should be a real Calander with the League starting in August, & ending in May, plust real transfer windows, with 1 at the beggining of the season, not the end!

REAL MONEY, not points!

Golden Glove award

the ability to take up a new job at a new club half way through a current ML season.

World cup & the Euro, which to can view at the end of every 2 seasons (you do not play in them, just get to see the final table, & how some of you players got on)
