Mate i have exactly the same...u might be a lil bit pissed off to know that you also require a wireless ethernet bridge (about £40) of play.com so the router can send signals to that. You then plug the other end of the ethernet cable into the bridge and thats it
EDIT:looks like they're out of stock on play...i think loads of people have been buying them just for pes5...

I think its impossible! I've tried everything and failed whereas the bridge works for all other online games.

Ver weird!

What about port settings?

Do you have to set your sony network config file 2 "Default" or did you have to do something weird like open ports on your router??

You're gonna tell me u just plugged it in and away you went aren't you! All very confusing......

Well sorry m8 but ye...it couldn't have been easier. I got a wireless router and used its manual to configure it (all the ports needed were already open) and then after like a day i realised i also needed an ethernet bridge. I got that off play and didn't even take a glance at the manual. I just plugged the ethernet cable in and voila (you also have to plug in the bridge btw). And sorry im not sure about the network config for sony because i just followed the access disk's instructions.
