Heres how to run PES 2009 demo on xp64
1.run the exe installer, wait for it to error. don't click anything

2.go to your c:\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\temp\{random numbers and letters}\ (make sure you select the right folder, it will be the latest date and timed folder)

3.you should see the pro evo .msi file, copy that somewhere else along with ALL the INI files except the _instmel.ini (or the one thats called summit like that)

4. rename the setup.ini to something else. e.g cuntface.ini

5.close the error message

6.then run the .msi file from wherever your copying it to

7.should run ok.

No point sticking a thread related to a demo.

Also, if making a thread a sticky one would want the instructions pinned down a little bit more.

Well...

Same routine applied to PES2008 on XP64 and I would bet my next months wages that the same steps will need to taken in order to install PES 2009 when it is released. It's Konami we are talking about here......they tend to take a long time to learn from thier mistakes.

I aint bothered, cos i have the demo running on my XP64 installation.....but there are plenty out there who are stumped......I would suggest making this a sticky for a week or two could help out quite a handful of people.

Pes 2009 demo on xp64

install VMware Workstation, make a virtual machine and install Windows XP Professional x86(32 bit) on it,
after that install Pes 2009 on that virtual operating system.
Then just copy the whole pes folder to your real system.

by following the steps above u are circumnavigating the little hiccup that XP64 throws up with this program.

"Error 1335. The Cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot not be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."
