I can't afford 2011!

I can't remember ever anticipating so many AAA titles before. Have no idea how I'm going to finance them. What games do you guys plan on buying next year? Are you worried about paying for them?

My compulsory purchases for 2011:
LittleBigPlanet 2
Mass Effect 2
Killzone 3
ICO & The Shadow of the Colossus Collection
L.A. Noire
Batman: Arkham City
The Last Guardian
inFamous 2
Mass Effect 3
Agent
Uncharted 3
The Elder Scrolls V

Games I'll certainly buy if the reviews are good:
Portal 2
Dead Space 2
Need For Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed
Test Drive Unlimited 2
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Resistance 3
MotorStorm: Apocalypse
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

FFS. I can't afford 20 new games in one year. That's over R11000! Even more if I don't pre-order everything.
Just the compulsory purchases are over R6.5k. Gonna have to start playing the lotto every week...

On top of that I still need to start or complete (games I don't have - I only know of Killzone 2 & Brotherhood that I'm getting for Xmas) Uncharted 1, Resistance 1 & 2, Killzone 2, both Ratchet & Clanks and Assassin's Creed 2 & B. BFBC2's Vietnam is also a compulsory purchase but at least it's not expensive.

If I had to make a bare bones list of games for next year it would be the ones in bold. 11 new games is still a lot of money.

So how does 2011 in gaming look for you guys?
:eek:hmy:

I know how you feel, mate.

Interesting how you put CoD: MW 3 under the "if the reviews are good" list. The reviews ARE gonna be good. Despite the fact it will be pretty much the same as the last 2 games.

A lot of those games are pretty decent, and are the 2nd or 3rd version of the game, which means, I supposed you've played and enjoyed the 1st one. Games are too expensive these days, and too short. We are being raped for money, and receiving a game that you can complete in a day or 2. What happened to the good old days of having a game such as GTA:Vice City for PS2, that lasted weeks on end!? I used that GTA, because I thought it had the most gripping storyline out of them all.

Try Fallout: NV. I've played over 60hrs on one saved game, still got loads to do. Basically I just want to do as much as possible on my first playthrough, which may be a mistake, since I will have to do it all again in my next playthrough... but I'll be evil the next time, with my deadly female Alter ego, Alison.
RDR is also a game that you can spend ages on. Assassin's Creed too. Basically, just the open world games.

You do realise this is a spambot post? The links at the bottom should give it away, alas, it is a good topic though.

I've still got Batman Arkham Asylum to start and Red Dead Redemption, Forza 3, The Orange Box and IL2 to finish so will be a while before I look at any new games!

The games I think I'll eventually be getting next year though are:

- Batman Arkham City
- Dead Space 2 (Loved the first one!)
- Crysis 2
- Forza 4
- PES 2012
and.... if I have time:
- Mass Effect 1,2 & 3!
