Ok, firt of all am a big time ISS pro fan, and follwed the series since 96. i have become extemely frustrated at the crappy Iss games that have come out in europe for the PS2, i mean there nothing compared to the qualitys of PS1 games.

i whould just like to know what "winning eleven" is? is it a american version of europe's ISS pro? if so then am pretty frustrated at reading reviews saying the winning eleven series only released in the US are better then europes ISS by far, i mean whats going on are Konami regecting us europeons by releasing crappy games while the north americans enjoy there much better quality one's. can some one please fill me in on this?

i also whould like to know what is the best soccer game currently (or going to be out) on PS2 in europe? thanx.

This is quote from connoll3 from around here.

"WE6I was released in mid March 2003.

From what I understand, WE6I is a slightly modified version of PES2. Konami has tweaked the AI a bit (to get out the bugs), but have not substantially overhauled the game. This is according to people that have played both games, although I have to admit I am not one of them.

Nevertheless, the rosters are the same as in PES2"

Winning Eleven 6: International is the only version out in the US.
Winning Eleven 6:FE is the latest one out in Japan (and the best version so far).
This was preceded by WE6 and WE5 etc.
Soon to be released in Japan is Winning Eleven 7 in August 7th 2003

PES3 will be out in Europe 'sometime' towards the end of this year, possibly November and will be based on WE7.

If you chip or modify your PS2, you can play any version.
It seems that the best versions of the game will be WE7 and PES3.

Hmm... anyone please correct if I am talking out of my arse.

As far as I know the 'Winning Eleven' series is the Japenese name for PES. The games released are the same all over the world.

I would recommend buying PES3 when it comes out.

I hope i've helped.

Thanks for that the game names kind of confused me too.

Anyone have an idea for the different names?

Well the PES series is the European version of the WE series because PES is derived from WE.

Do you mean the games are exactly the same everywhere? If so then that is not the case, the WE engine is a superior one. That's why there is so much excitement surrounding PES3 as it is said to be a direct port of WE7 rather then lacklustre imitation.

Different names for different development teams? More of a guess though, to be honest.

Sorry, I thought I had read somewhere they were the same, I am obviously wrong.
