Hi everyone,

I've played PES2010 for a while online, but I'm losing almost everytime. I have checked what my problems are and hope you guys can help me.

Running problem When I'm on attacking run, my opponent runs faster than me to catch me. When I'm on defence run and try to catch my opponent, I run as fast or slower than my opponent.:shocking:

Slowdown or unbalance my opponent run When I'm chasing my opponent from behind or beside, I cannot slowdown or unbalance my opponent. It offen happend that I self will get slowdown or unbalanced, so I have to stop my chase on my opponent.:eek:hmy:

Steal the ball When my opponent try to bypass me while he is dribbling with the ball, the defender that I'm controlling is doing nothing which let my opponent go though me.

Doesnt move after jumping When a ball is falling from the air, while I and my opponent is jumping on the air to catch the ball with our heads. After jumping I will stand still for a few sec, while my opponent is moving immediatly after landing from the jump.

Many thanks,

Yorokobi

I think there is nothing wrong with your controls. Only thing is just see if your sprint button is assigned properly. It might have been assigned to R2 while you keep bashing R1. Also remember, as players tire towards the end of the halves, the difference between normal run and a sprint becomes minimal.

While you refer to your player and opponent player, you haven't mentioned who these players are. You might know that each player's actions are governed by a combination of about 30+ player attributes. So such things as you mentioned do keep happening and that's how it normally is. Isn't it?

When an opponent player dribbles, your defender will be able to do something if his RESPONSE stats are high. Otherwise, he'd think a little too slowly for him to be able to respond to swift dribbling or technical moves.

Even in real football, when you're chasing the ball carrier, it's hardly possible to get ahead of him by sheer pace unless the difference in pace is very high. I'd suggest you to use the 'player change' as a weapon to choose the right defender to be able to attack/catch/tackle the ball carrier. Same about the jumping problem. These are governed by JUMP and HEADING stats. If you want to believe me, play as a strong team against a weaker team. You'll outpace, outhead and outpass them, because they are governed by stats.

Above all, the comp AI naturally would best use the various skills and stats of each player. So chill . . you'll only get better with time.

I think your problems may also be due to annoying bugs in the game (e.g. players freezing from time to time, just as you stated).
Besides, regarding the speed issue, you should use teams of similar strenght if you don't want to beaten by the pace of your opponents.
I mean if you played wigan-manu (controlling wigan that is), you would not be able to outplay them using your pace or skills unless you're really good.
