Ask Konami. It depends on your definition of a long time to install. All games released will work fine with XP SP2 for years to come.

I have it and it works.

It DOES take some time to install, just wait for it ^^

installation was fast for me i presume its down to ure cpu speed

and to guy who created topic what specs you got is more important than what os you got

xp will run anything ,the only downside is lack of directx 10 but not really that important to be honest, hardly any games support it

what cpu and graphics card you got, that's the problem with a gaming pc, you have to constantly upgrade it, like me, i spend on average 50-100 every year upgrading it, if you want a cheap graphics card then get this as it's a decent card for gaming: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8400.html, it should cost no more than 30quid, but regarding your slowness, i think you should invest in a gaming pc for 800quid, that should keep you going for the next 3-4 years,

Never buy a pre-made system, its a waste of money.

An 8400 also isn't a gaming card, the higher the last three digits with Geforce cards the more powerful they are in their series. An ATi Radeon HD 4850 is a very good card for the price, the same goes for the 4870 which I have.

You don't need to keep spending these days because technology is moving faster than the requirements of games. 4GB of DDR2 RAM is more than enough, as is pretty much any dual core system and most definitely any quad core system.

The slowness on the OP's machine could be down to other programs he has installed as opposed to his specs.
