In keeping with the guidelines, let me get these questions out of the way first:
1. How long have you been playing PES?
If International Superstar Soccer is considered a PES game, then since that one (on the SNES in '94). If not, then since Pro Evolution Soccer on PS2 (2001 I think)
2. What are the aspects that you like most about PES?
Deep Master League mode, the variety of happenings in matches, the width and pitch size in general, the ability to tinker around tactics
3. What are the aspects that you don’t like about PES?
In the 2011 specifically, the players desire to stray offside at every opportunity! How I am supposed to get the Gentleman achievement too when offsides are classed as a foul!!?
Anyway, my thoughts (and apologies if these are already covered elsewhere)
1) Rewind mode:
It would be great for mastering the game, if there were a rewind mode that worked much in the same way as it's been used in recent racing games (ie Grid, Forza)
So when a key pass goes astray, a dead ball situation messes up, a shot is missed etc I can rewind the action and try again to get a better result. Personally I don't want the new result to actually count (so I'm not looking to gain an advantage or 'cheat') but I do want to learn what the correct button/stick pushes should be for different situations.
I'm thinking once I've messed about on the rewind, tried a few things and exited that mode I find myself in the pause menu ready to restart the action from where I was before the rewind.
2) Master League transfers:
Bring back the option to trade players. This was great in previous versions where you could offer a player or two plus cash to land who you wanted and trim your squad at the same time.
3) More status levels to apply to players than just 'transfer listed', 'loan listed':
In my current Master League I have the issue where my wage bill is (after just 3 seasons) a little over £100m and therefore not sustainable. I found though, if I put players up for sale then I only get offered around the market price (and risk the team morale dipping) which is OK, until you realise you could get offered sums up to £60M+ for speculative approaches for players.
So it would be great to be able to apply status like 'Will listen to offers', 'Offers over 50m+' etc to players to let the AI know it could bid on these without having to tranfer list these. I guess too a 'Will not sell' status could also be introduced (so I don't have to deal with the endless streams of teams trying to buy Pires year after year!)
4) Offsides. I know the rule is applied to the letter of the law BUT if one of my attackers runs backwards from a very slightly offside position (ie comes back towards my goal) and beats the defenders to the ball, then I'd like the ref to ignore the offside in this case.
5) Let me save 'Choose manually' on the gameplan screen to prevent having to pick this everytime!
6) Let me assign up to 4 custom strategies instead of just 2 for changes mid game. I find don't really use the other options (perhaps quick counter occasionally) but I like changing formation shape a lot and 2 more slots would be a godsend.
7) Give me more detailed search options for finding players. In past versions I could search on individual stats which does save a fair bit of fiddling around. For instance, I'd like to add to any search a filter to exclude anyone with Form under 4, since I find under that, they are more likely to be miserable and pretty useless over a season.
I think I could add at least 7 more, but these are the main things that I'd like to see!
Cheers
Matt
