Improve Your Chances Of Scoring From 45m

(Against comp.)

My girlfriend recently scored with Batistuta (edited from PES2 stats) from 45m+!
This goal 'ere

This got me thinking; how can I do it?
Well, I've done this 3 times in 3 days. Once with Becks, once with Rivaldo, & Ortega.
I'm getting an x-port in the next few days, so I'll be able to prove this!!
Below is a description of what I've found out:

1) The Set-up
Firstly, to make things easier for you, pick a side with several players with high combined Shot Acc, Shot Power & Shot Tec stats.
If your ML side has them, stick for instance, Maradonna on LMF & Becks on RMF.
Put eg Rivaldo LCF & Pelé RCF.
Have them make runs toward the wings, by editing the "individual" "attack" arrows diagonally forwards & out-wards.
2) In Practice
Right, this aint easy, but you have to lure the keeper far enough to the edge of his area to power a shot past him.
The quickest way of doing this is to give the ball away inside your own half.
Notice how the keeper edges forward? He'll normally go halfway between the Penalty spot and the edge of the area.
Sometimes he will go outside his area, ie when his side have a corner.
The important thing is not to send him back to his goal-line, or you've no chance from 45m!
Look at the radar & see when he's out as far as he'll go.
Next, win the ball back inside your own half & get it to 1 of your golden boys, (who's also still inside his own-half).
You can score from far-out near the centre of the pitch - like my girlfriend - but its easier from the wings. This is because the keeper starts to go back sooner (often when you're still in the centre-circle) than if you're on the wing.
Once out on the wing, from 5m or so inside the opposition's half, shoot on just over 1/2 power to 3/4 power with the :square: button. With any luck the keeper will still be well away from his line.
It doesn't seem to make much difference whether you're pressing :R1: or not. I think 1 of mine was done whilst sprinting & the other while dribbling.
You will miss often (I do), but look at some of the replays; the keeper would have stood no chance! That doesn't stop you going crazy when you hit the side netting from 40m out, with matey still 10 yards off his line
Try dedicating a few 25/30 min matches to doing this.
If you still can't do it, play against a weak side with a weak keeper & put all your condition arrows on red (up) & theirs on grey (down).
Good luck. If I can do it, anyone can!!
Btw, 1 of mine was 45+m Becks against Chilavert, random cond. arrows, on 4*!

Finally, sorry if this is old news to anyone, but hopefully it will help someone. :D

Just scored 3rd in about 6 games! This one's an Ortega effort from just inside the opposition half (my edited World Elite vs England). This was scored after deliberately running the ball out of play for an opposition corner. I now think this is probably the best way of filling your memory card with 45 metre eye-candy!
Providing you shoot from the wings, with a kicker who's strong foot is the same as the side he's on, the keeper should def. still be near the edge of his area when you shoot. :)

I'm just glad you broke down...
the buttons; stick controls; and the best situations to use the move.

I tried some 40m blasts in Training - I got close but not into the goal. The keeper wasn't out far enough from what you say above.

Ended up moving onto practice chip-feint-shots...sliding from :square: to L1.

They work well with 2/3 power from 25-30m, if the keeper is out and around his penalty spot. Trouble is he isn't often out that far in a real game.

Keep up the good work.

I think it's harder to score in training than in a match, esp fk's.
Never really tried long-range efforts in training though...

yeah it is harder since the keeper dosent come out as much makin the shot alot harder to pull off... i need to try this out seems like good advice, nice work!!

I'm not saying it's actually a "bug", most shots will miss, but the counter-attack lob-shot from opposition corner can really leave the (com) keeper in trouble!
Just boot the ball behind, or run it out of play, at every opportunity to give the corner away.

Let me know when you succeed!!
:D :D

Do you actually mean spankin' the ball into the top corner or lobbin' the 'keeper because lobbin' the 'keeper from the halfway line is like taking candy from a baby.

Really?
How many times can you score out of, say 100 attempts?

There's a certain amount of randomness about the shot accuracy, after all there's only so many ways you can press :square: from halfway, no matter how good you are!

Yeah I do. I think I've got one saved, actually.

But are the goals you scorin' drilled shots or floaty ones? I've never scored a REALLY powerful one from distance.

My girlfriend scored a lowish trajectory blast from right edge of the centre-circle with Batigol. I'll definately post it here, providing someone will help me with the tv-card bit as I don't have one!

My funniest one is my Ortega effort against David "Calamity" James, from an opposition corner counter-attack. It's a half-hearted shot, from the right-wing, that just rolls into the back of the net. It was from 51-52m though. The point is, James was so far off his line, he still had no chance!
Funny watching him scarper back :D :D

The Bati-goal is not really a lob. It doesn't get more than about 10 feet off the ground & is hit at pace.
I measured the distance, by looking at the replay from various angles, then going to the "free kick training" & putting the ball over the spot on the pitch.
She scored that from 49m.

I'm betting I'll be able to blast one with Rivelino. Oliseh has 99 shot power, but I've only seen goals scored with him from central areas. This is where his lower shot tech stat lets him down a bit.

I'm coming to the conclusion that shot acc & shot tech are a lot more important than shot power, when using the wing-lob method described above. Shot power is really an added bonus.

Just done 2 halfway lobs in 1 25min game, random condition arrows, playing as C.Arg v C.Eng, both counter-attacks from C.Eng corners. Both were shots from wings. Left with Maradonna & Right with edited Batistuta.
Think I'll start giving it a rest now & start playing normally again.
(I'm only average. Most people on this forum could probably kick my ass on PES! I still lose most com. matches on 5*!).

this is nice and all but i have scored from the halfway line about three or four times and that is just thumping it with luck so that is how it is done and i dont waste all my time doing tactics to try and score from the halfway .

BELIEVE
i know but i just think it is a waste of time and that i just like to play normal football instead of trying to hoof it all the time.

I've been doing that for about 8 x 25min matches over 3 days, just to see which method gets the best results.
Think I've had enough of it now (got my best replays saved)!
As you say, back to normal footie...
