I've been messing around with the "PRO EVO editing studio 2009" and after reading a few blogs and testing first hand with different settings along with a few friends.
I've reached the conclusion that using the global editor in the editing studio to reduce accelration by 20, agility by 10 and dribble speed by 30 the game has improved a lot visually, and also become more realistic.
I had to "manually" tune up dribbling speed on a few players that already was slow dribblers like Riquelme.
Since you are using a global edit, everyone gets the same nerf so it's not screwing up the balance of the game.
Since I am mostly playing Become a Legend when I am playing single player, I am using the same "nerf" on my own player using the built in "Legend editor" that comes with the editing studio.
Never having my agility above 78, accelration is set 20 lower than top speed and dribble speed is set around accelration level.
I try to keep the ability difference on those abilities the same through out my career.
With this OF build I am able to pull off stunning moves and dribbles on occation, you get a little more time on the ball without sprinting your ass off towards the side line, but since everyone accelrates a little slower but keeps the same top speed, playing against top clubs will still give the feeling of fast paced games.
Be sure to back up your OF before editing, and have fun trying it out if you're interested
edit: Credit for the idea goes to Tomba of Tomba's blog since i used a simplified version of his speed formula.
