If You Go To Set Up Your Formation And You Go To Individual And You Go To Attack And Set The Arrows What Is It For And Does Some Body Have A Tip For Me How To Set Them Up Best Thanks

Attack arrows indicate the direction in which the player will run when their team is in possesion of the ball.

Its up to you how to use them in-line with your formation and tactics. For example, they can be used on the left and right backs respectively in encouraging overlapping runs.

Yeh, basically what Kewel said. I tend to only use it with attacking players. But wingers are useful to have them on down the line. I often have me center midfielders and attacking midfielders with arrows to either side. Allowing them to stray from one side of the pitch to the other, making spaces to be passed into, so that you've got the opportunity to gather the ball, one turn, then lay it through to your forwards. If you hold up around the mid field and watch the radar, you can see your players making the runs that you select and time your passes as they get into spaces. It's a pretty useful and in my opinion crucial element to your line up. Experiment with all sorts of attacking options but one word of warning. If you've got a player with an Attacking arrow going up the pitch, but also have that same player with a medium to high defensive arrow, they will tire themselves out quite quickly. That's why i find it's best to only have attacking minded players with arrows that go up the pitch. Left neutral won't mean that they won't try and make space, it just means they won't try and make the room as often.

For defensive, CBs, DMFs, OMFs and CFs are on high defensive.
SBs, SMFs, WFs are on Low defensive.

Result is easier control of the middlefield and better openings for passes down the side.

I mean come on what do the Arrows do??
Ok point taken but I have just started another thread and now, after playing for years, I have suddenly realised that I dont understand half of what I ashould be doing to set my team up. Perhaps in PES5 how you set the team up has a greater effect than in other versions, I dont know, but my players wander all over the place now and I dont know what to do about it.

Some players have this 'wander' feature in them i.e I read in your other thread the full back going missing. You will have to also make you defender run back towards his own goal which means he wont be as attacking. I suggest you take a nice beer sit in the sun and read snipets out of the manual.
